View Full Version : About the F&F confusion

I think somebody just found to key to everything...
"To declare the F&F officially started, they are waiting on every invites to be sent wich isn't the case right now."
We do know that there's a server up for employees to play at home (like Bashiok hinted by saying he plays on his big monitor at home) and that some "friends" of Blizzard got some e-mails to ask about their bnet account (pretty much like the fansites). Not everybody in the name pool got his invite yet.
So, if we add this to the posts, the beta avatar and everything... We could say that technically Bashiok was right saying the F&F isn't started if they really need to wait until everybody gets it to be able to say so, but we can also say that everybody who said the F&F is there was right too... Just not "officially".
Thoughts?
It's started, who are you kidding? Yourself?
This has become the most confusingly unorganized PR mess I have ever seen from Blizz lol. Nobody has a straight story.

I saw some really good posts on this topic on the official forums. I cannot re-write it all so plz read.
Why the resistance from some to accept the fact the F&F has begun? Is it people who thought they may have made that list and aren't playing now so it's confirmation they didn't make that list? Blizz community team perpetuating it is simply baffling. To what ends?
I think, believe whatever helps making the waiting easier for you.
But the F&F has most definitely started, it's well under way in fact. I don't base such bold statements on hearsay either.
To what ends?
I believe the answer is self evident.

Yes, despite the level of stupidity and denial over on the D3 community forums by people who wish to bury their heads in the sand, the friends and family beta has started. What more evidence do people need? There could be rioting going on outside their windows, but if an "official source" (Blizzard) says it isn't happening, they're content to believe it.

I really don't understand this whole ordeal. Someone must be lying or there is just a big misunderstanding. I wonder, if the F&F beta has started, what motive does Blizzard have to deny it?
There isn't any Friends and Family beta test confusion, unless your retarded and illiterate.

Lol this whole ordeal has me very perplexed. Blizzard PR has certainly dropped the ball on this one. Blizzard CM, "Ok guys, lets make an official forum to report the bugs and such before we release beta next week, one less thing to worry about right. Sounds good Bobby. O wait, why is our secretive F&F beta being exposed in our beta bugs forum by testers? O shiat, we let it happen again. O well...we'll just leave the beta forums open and pray no one else posts there. In the meantime, let us tell the public that no F&F beta has started, they'll believe us right?"
LOL I totally understand where Flux is coming from in regards to Blizzard's PR handle towards the community. I'm just totally kicking back laughing at this mess that they have created.

Seriouly people on official forums are pissing me off. My thread now has 26 pages of people saying it's started and others saying it's not. Why the hell is there fanboys saying "NO IT'S NOT STARTED" just because Bashiok and Sixen says so. Sixen was "ok" before but now I just don't really like him. I never really went on fansites but now I can garantee I will be here a lot. This place is much better than the official forums, where people are **** talking about diablo.incgamers with no reasons, except that Sixen is the Blizzard's loved because he says what Blizzard wants him to say. We all know there's a beta going on we all freakin know. I don't understand.. Since the day we began saying it's starting, leaks are appearing everyday + other strange things. This is a proof it's really started but no those random dudes thinking they are Blizzard, keep saying it's only employees and employees leak things too. Orly? If employees were leaking that much, wouldn't it happen an other day than at the same time we all say the F&F started? Come on this is ridiculous just taking the time to elaborate on this.. There's just too many reasons. It has started, end of it. I won't try to find stupid ways to convince others.
Btw, diablo.incgamers.com is really nice, it's reflecting fans and not Blizzard *cough cough diablofans.com cough*
Invites have gone out, and people can download the client. But it hasn't technically "started". The servers aren't up.
Why the resistance from some to accept the fact the F&F has begun?
they can't believe Bashiok would lie to them and that a "blacklisted" fansite knows more than any of the official ones do
and they can't believe they aren't "friends", because if the the F&F had started then surely they would have received invites :rolf::rolf:

that doesn't seem to be true either

If it wasn't true then I'd be playing me some D3 instead of waiting for the server to be up and posting this message.
Also, some F&F (North America) haven't even gotten their invitation email yet.

well obviously somebody's been playing it

Blizzard employees. As of recent they have been able to play the client at home. Before they were only testing it in-house.
It is possible that F&F outside of NA has started, but I don't know anything outside of NA.
I personally know of five people who have keys for the F&F beta and they cannot play yet. So, I would be hesitant to say it has started for anyone besides internal Blizzard employees.
The only reason this site is "blacklisted" is because they don't lick Blizzard's *** if i may say it that way. They share information good or bad which is what i respect a lot! <3

No, this site is blacklisted because back during the War3 beta, Rush acted like an idiot and gave people information on how to play War3 on unofficial beta servers which Blizzard was vehemently against.
Ever since then, the admins of this site have been butt hurt over being blacklisted, and try to take solace in an imaginary sense of actually mattering.
The reality is, Blizzard isn't hurt even a tiny bit by ignoring this website. Blizzard fansite relations are as simple as adding a site to a list and adding out canned invites. And aside from the extremely big outlets (ie: IGN/GameSpot), it makes zero difference to Blizzard as to what sites get official info or not. However, it does in fact matter a great deal to the individual sites whether or not they're on the list, thus the immense amount of whining and crying from the admins on this site.
Paul can reply about the War 3 thing, but we had exclusive interviews, I was invited to blizzard events, and we got numerous tickets and press passes to blizzcon in 2008 and 2009 and early 2010. That's what, 7 years after the war 3 beta?

Don't you worry your pretty little head about facts will you now.
Considering we have been on numerous official visits to their head offices and had press access to lots of their events, thousands of beta keys for Starcraft 2 and WoW Xpacks since the Warcraft 3 beta I have to say... man in the corner, you're talking sh*te!.
Be gone with your QQing.
EDIT - Thankfully was able to find the exact clip that sprang to mind. NSFW.

I thought I would respond because this is a post of comedic value.
I have no idea where you get your information from but considering the WC3 Beta was in 2002 and we have been part of every Blizzard fansite programme since then until the start of 2010, I think your reasoning is more than slightly flawed.
As for crying and whining, get ahold of yourself. Nobody here is crying, nobody here really cares who Blizzard add to their lists, our priority is to impart info to the community (and has been since 1997), whether Blizzard want to join in that's up to them.
And for the record, IncGamers sites have never promoted hacking or even gold selling, unlike some other sites and networks who are on the fansite programme. Read out forums rules for clarification.

Triple admin smackdown counter. Apollo is a very, very talented troll. Perhaps the most talented one of them all.
He's not talented. Anyone can talk out their ear. I heard Madonna was going to play Benito Mussolini in her next movie. See? Very easy. It seems we all (Admins) simply spotted the thread and responded at the same time. Had I seen Flux and Rush had already knocked some sense into the boy I wouldn't have bothered.
But he pushed the right buttons and got the three top dawgs respond to him. By actual definition of what trolling is, that is a very well executed attempt. Not very subtle or (I expect) long lasting, but I think you guys could have safely ignored him -_-

I heard the real reason incgamers fell upon disfavor was due to the ravenous mongooses they freed inside Bliz HQ. Jay Wilson used to have a full thick head of hair before those little buggers got to him...his shrill cries still haunt the misty corners of that forsaken place
Trolling should ideally make someone angry. All he did was get his post corrected and look like a fool. There's a difference between calculated trolling and genuine stupidity. If anyone's taking the bait, konfeta, it's you.
Well, we could discuss the finer aspects of what trolling is, the different breeds and types of trolls, or how you determine the quality of it, but this will rapidly turn into a meta-trolling derail.
I can't believe people are actually -- as opposed to trollingly -- denying that F&F has started.
Posting on the bnet forums I have realized that the avg bnet poster are not that bright no wonder must of them just sit and play wow all day.

The way I see it is:
- There have been leaks of beta information.
- The Chinese battle.net forum CM confirmed that F&F has started
- Bashiok (US battle.net forum CM) denied that the F&F has started, less than a week ago, and has not confirmed it since then.
- Some of the leaks have chinese characters on the screen.
- The post above saying it's begun because Bashiok plays it at home is unrelated, because he gets access to it before friends and family as an employee - and as being the CM of the D3 forums - he gathers feedback from the forums to give to devs - so he should know what he's talking about by playing the game.
So the confusion is caused by Bashiok, really. He says it hasn't begun, but in China, it obviously has. So it means one of the following:
1) Some sort of testing is being done in China
or
2) Some sort of testing is being done in china and america.
Either way. Testing has begun with the beta beyond just the offices of blizzard in irvine, ca.
