Its not actually a stream and after a few minutes it shows abit of party play.
It looks good :) cant wait to try it out myself!
looks good, thanks.
i just wonder how looting works in parties, just pick up and it's yours? (would make it a bit tiresome, always asking if anyone else wants it (even more so when they enable selling to vendors))
it is like that at the moment yes, but I think I read somewhere that they are thinking of implementing a system where when in partys, there will be a certain amount of time between when the items dropped and when your allowed to pick it up, giving ranged characters a chance to get next to the drops to pick it up :)
looks good, thanks.

It's the old D2 way, which PoE seems to follow a lot (well D1 & D2!) some prefer it this way as it keeps the game truer to the older ones. I don't mind it but I also won't complain about getting my own separate loot in D3

Fantastic!! That's something I've been bothered with when watching videos / streams -- no one plays in a party!! That's a HUGE deal for me. I think party play is what makes or breaks games like this, and for the most part it seems to be going largely untested. Once I get a key, all I'm going to do is party up with my girlfriend, so I'm realllllllly curious to see what it's like.

I agree that party play is what makes or breaks these types of games. I hardly ever play Diablo 2 by myself, always with a group of others that i've known through gaming over the years, and I hope to do the same with PoE.

I've seen some discussion somewhere (can't remember where) about some issues with party play and I'm curious about how they are going to solve them.
One of the big issues for me is the "magic find" properties and how they work in parties. Does it apply these stats via addition? I.e. if I have 10% increased rarity and my friend has 10% increased rarity, do we get 20% together? Does it imply that the person dealing the killing blow is the one to effect the outcome of the drops instead?
What about experience sharing? I wonder if the experience is split by just dividing between the players?
Also, I've been told the flasks are a huge issue too in parties. People who aren't doing as much killing might be left high and dry for health/mana flasks, or is the flask distribution shared?
If anyone with some experience could shed some light that'd be great!

Currently it is the player who gets the last hit that determines the rarity of items dropped. Magic find does not add per party, not does it average the partied players' total to find the value. This is one of the things that has been suggested in the forums (bonus to magic find for parties) so we'll see how it turns out.

It is weighted by character level. I don't know exactly how the formula looks, but if you are 5 levels ahead of those in the group you take significantly more of the experience from kills.

I've not payed any particular attention to this while grouped. I have to use the flasks much less while in a group than playing solo, just because of the increased speed of killing. Even with a pure caster I have never been in a position where my mana flasks are empty in a party.
