But probably wont is removing the waypoints and let the players fight all the way through a chosen act through the different areas and bosses. No waypoints, no checkpoints and full respawn on mobs as soon as you clear an area out and leave it. If you die and nobody is alive to resurect you... Start all over again.

I know the acts are different in lengt but you get the idea right? It would be a little like doing instances and have more at stake if you die. And it would encurage a well thought out co-op play to get to the bosses.

Definitely an interesting idea, not for everyone of course but pretty cool.

I love it, actually. Definitely makes the game more challenging, which is something I always welcome.

I'd hope each act is so long that it wouldn't work.

Would certainly prefer the game just to be more difficult instead.

Extraordinary grindfest. No thank you. Challenge shouldn't be = DO U HAS 10 CONTINUOUS HOURS IN ONE DAY TO BURN?

It could be interesting as an option or ironman play would be nice to see an achievement tied to it if you could manage it. But for us HC players I am not sure my heart could take that much stress.

Even though it would be a challenge, I think konfeta has a point. I believe games in general should be less time consuming.

I'd assume the difficulty would vamp up quickly and you could skip a few quests to shorten it a bit? Not that cool of an idea if its the same difficulty as hell but without continues. More of an endurance how far can you go mode.

So essentially it's hardcore except you go back to the begining of inferno rather than back to level 1.

i definitively like the general concept of your idea. i mean how do they want to stop stuff like bossruns if they have even more WP`s than in d2 ?

if there is stuff like the mephisto WP , there will still be very popular "runs"

we dont know much about their Mapdesign yet , maybe they have problems like that already solved.

in any case if not completely removing WP - they should atleast remove 2/3 of the WP - atleast that sounds good in theory - though as i said we dont know much about mapdesign yet.

An interesting idea but I doubt Blizzard will do it. They're trying to prevent "path of least resistance" runs and are encouraging players to clear entire areas instead of just farming one spot over and over. Fast respawns will probably encourage players to camp out and farm one spot.

As many ppl say it might be too much wow and not enough diablo but with some thogt behind it it could be a fun endgame-thing added later on since alot of ppl like the idea.

And yeah it could be exploited in some ways that ppl grind the same area cause of respawns but its the same thing as creating a new game and use the waypoint...

Someone compared it to ironman-contests. Why not? Blizz could make it an option with a slight extra magicfind the longer you get? Not enough to make a big difference but enough to make a couple of friends try it out. The core idea i like about it is the "dont die" aspect. You die its game over but not in a hardcore way. Only game over for this session. I am one of those guys that wont have enough time to reroll HC-chars if i want to enjoy all classes and all contents but still like the idea of really really wanting survive the boss or whatever.

I don't think there is anything wrong wit the concept, it basically sounds like 'endless dungeon' from other games.
It just shouldn't be used for the normal game imo, but more of a closed environment specifically balanced and designed for it.

So every time you log in you have to start at the beginning?? If you remove waypoints, no one ever sees anything beyond Act 1.

I think some people will probably do this for an added challenge; however, I think it would take away from their desire to have players be able to choose where they want to farm. By making all the mobs the same lvl and with the same potential to drop the best items, Inferno allows people to farm the content they find the most fun or where their char is most efficient. Boss runs, for me, got really old fast. I liked stopping on my way to andy/meph to kill unique mob packs. It will be great to have it be worth your while, and you won't have to feel like you should rush past stuff to get to a boss.

They should leave the general game world alone. Keep the crazy survival/marathon challenges for achievements and random quests/events. Challenge should be on your brain/reflexes, not your bladder.

What I would like to see is an incremental buff to MF and GF for each area fully cleared in that game. It could ramp up slowly until it gets to something meaningful but not crazy big. Like the first couple areas cleared you get an extra 5% added, then 10%, then 25%, then 50%. Maybe even an extra boost for going after a more difficult area first.

It would reward longer games with varied play through of areas, and since the whole point of Inferno is to farm it would tie into that.
