Share some crazy stories with us about the lengths you went through to play Diablo and other nostalgia.

For me, I remember skipping school with a friend a few times, walking to another friend's house, and climbing through his window to play diablo for a few hours before band practice.

Also I remember my GF getting angry at me because sometimes when playing the game I denied her sexy time. Now for a 17y.o. male rather wanting to play Diablo then, well you know, that's addiction!

With Diablo I i didn't do anything silly when it was released, or skipped work/university to play. I just played for nights and nights with my friends and we really, really had a good time, both in fear of dying and triumph over death! The Butcher still rings in my ear and the succubus bring vibrant memories of trying to escape death and failing.

With Diablo II i actually bought my copy right when it was released. I was on holiday and had my Diablo II box, but i could not play! At those times i could not just take my laptop and start playing. Infact i did not have one!

The craziest thing i did with Diablo II was a ladder run for Level 99 1st on Europe Ladder, with some friends from the Europe Trading Forum here at diablo.incgamers.com. This undertaking brought a lot of hardship upon us and i even played while at work, so we could advance. Each of us put a lot of time and concentration into this task and YES!! we succeded in making Level 99 1st on Europe Ladder!!!!

This was i think the hardest and greatest achievement i ever got got in Diablo II. My fellows can certainly attest to this and this task bound us together for a long while, way past Diablo II. It proved friendship and some banning of people in the group who wanted all the wealth we had amassed in that time.

This task was really great and quite the experience. We had to figure out ways to still get experience fast when having reached Level 98. The experience from each run was so small, even with experience shrines attached to the main character, which was a Hammerdin. Endless games of killing Diablo and Baal over and over again.

Good times, hard times. Worth the effort!

Now, I never had the patience to play to 99, and playing Single Player, it would have been even harder. Will you miss that sort of thing in D3? Or are you glad that they want to replace end game with more than just a grind to 99?

Never did anything crazy to play D2. WoW on the other hand...:whistling:

Lol, WoW. I once hooked up my wireless mouse so I when I had to go the bathroom I could move my character so I would not go AFK while in Alterac Valley. That was back when the AV games lasted 12 to 14 hours! Yep, I played a few 14 hour games, from morning to night, healing away in my newly founded Twill set for my UD priest. Now I can't stand being in WoW for more than a few minutes, 15 if I am lucky.

I can remember playing d2 on the internet, when internet was still paid for per minute, my dad at first let me play half an hour per day, then an hour, then one and a half hour, and so on. And how I was looking forward to that hour per day of playing D2! hahahaha good times :)

Played D2 multiplayer (LAN) all night long with friends, from dinner to early morning, endless times.

Those were good days. BNET was great too, but slaying demons together with 4 more people tightly packed in a small room, that felt the best.

I remember skipping school with a friend a few times

Oh man.
I'd usually ride to school with said friend. He'd come pick me up and we'd just go straight to his house and start up some Diablo. Would take a break at some point, eat all of his Swedish Fish and watch The Daily Show with Craig Kilborn.

He'd drop me back off at my house before his mom came home, and all I'd have to do was make sure I caught the automated call hours later from the school and be all "sorry, you've got the wrong number!"

Those were the days. I still made straight A's that year as well. Thanks for the memories, Big D!

I remember I faked sick when Diablo 2 came out for 3 days so I could play. Those days were glorious. :)

I was only 15 when d2 came out. my best friend and i worked at a mom and pop pizza joint. we would close up shop at 10pm, go home, and play on bnet til sun up. man did we suck! we played untwinked, but that was only cause we sucked at trading (more like begging). for some reason my best memories are of act 3. it took us forever to get through. i swear my barb and his necro were stuck there for 3 days. i havnt recalled those good old days for a long time. thanks for the memories! oh yeah, my mom would always come to bottom of the stairs and yell "you better not be looking at porn up there!" hah, who has time for porn when your trying to off mephisto?

Judging how you see your own prowess, I would say that Mephisto probably had time for that :p

I remember taking a few extra long lunches from school when I was trying to squeeze in some D1. Nothing too drastic though.

I was first year college when D2 game out and I pulled a lot of all nighters to get assignments in after a night of gaming. I purchased the collectors edition of D2 and couldn't get over how epic the box was. It was my first collectors edition and it was a doozy. I still have the box and it's contents to this day.

I still don't know how I got by with so little sleep. Probably explains why I couldn't stay awake during my 8:00am C++ programming class (who could?)

What defines a Swedish Fish?

When i was 14 during summer break, I made it my personal objective to level to 99. Lets just say with a lot of repetative cow runs, I got my summon nec up to 99. I have never had that same feeling of accomplishment in a video game since then. Even hitting level 60 in vanilla WoW did not exceed that accomplishment.
