They posted the following image stating that it is what they want the UI to look like within a few weeks:

Personally I think it looks fantastic!

Oh god, this UI is AMAZING. I love it! Those orbs are really nice, especially those reflections and inner side of health orb. Unfortunately, I looked at some beta streams and beta client still uses old UI :(

Kudos to Chris and the rest of the team for actually managing to keep working on the game while the community is clamoring to get in the beta. The new look of the inventory screen looks loads better than the previous one.

Saw this on the PoE forums and my jaw dropped!

Freaking amazing. When I first saw the game in action, the only qualms I had was with the UI. Now that that's fixed up, I seriously cannot wait to play!

I think this new UI really brings the player even further into the dark atmosphere of the game! The old UI looked a tad bit unpolished! Great improvement!!

Everything I see or hear about this game makes it sound better and better. This game is going places, I can't wait to try it.

So purdy! I do like the item background shading in the inventory in the older screenshot though. Helps to visually identify free/used space on the grid. Maybe not as bright though...needs that dark gritty feeling in the color and maybe texture.

This was one of the things I spoke with Chris about (and many others). The previous UI was just screaming old school 90's style lol. Glad he took our considerations to heart. Looks great!

It doesn't seem all that bright, fine to me. It may look brighter due to the main game screen being blurred out.

Besides, too nitty-gritty, and you won't be able to distinguish the UI properly from the gameplay! Important aspect of the UI is clearly showing information
