has anyone heard of Path of Exile? I saw it on IGN it's a free-to-play dark action rpg that looks a lot like Diablo. Beta is supposedly soon was wondering if anyone knows much about it it looks cool. :thumbup:

Been wondering the same thing! Just 'found' it Monday to be exact. Had to sign up to sign up for the beta testing: wonder how that will actually go.

It looks pretty sweet to me. The Free-to-Play is defiantly worth playing.

The gem/skill system is a little strange. Reminds me of some game... can't quite remember what that has to do with the gems/socket thing... not quite diablo ii, not quite ffvii... just had it...... ugh...

Reminded me a little of Sacred 2, although it wasn't gems, and not sockets in items, but you could modify your abilities with different effects.

Although that system is far from as versatile as this. Also the skills/effects didn't quite lvl up in the same way.

Path of exile looks awesome, I'm looking forward to it more than diablo 3 now.

Path of exile has officially announced it's BETA START DATE (no lie).

To be honest, if the D3 beta ends up being as short as folks predict (since it's so small and only [really] testing their new distributed server architecture, then as long as no huge issues come up, perhaps Elly's prediction (11/11/11) will win after all! :P
