Rogue and Warrior are pretty equal for me, but I voted rogue cause I knew warrior would be winning this, and my rogue has the most sentimental value cause she's my oldest char. Sorcerer is distant last.

It might well depend on the game type. For example, playing a Warrior with a Rogue as a LAN teammate might be more interesting than playing a Warrior without anybody else to play with. Playing by oneself in all cases however do look boring to me, and that, in most cases.

Rogue is without a doubt the most versatile class... better with spells than a warrior, and better with melee than a sorcerer, and the undisputed master of archery. They are solid in any type of combat.

EDIT: Interesting rambling from FireIceTalon -- someone with much all-around firsthand experience.

Indeed, rogues have a foot in both worlds, and therefore are the most interesting class in the long run.

sorceror...

i tried monk and bard and rogue and warrior...

warrior: tried in the demo..
rogue: made it to cave i guess
sorceror: killed diablo
monk: killed everything and died at diablo couldnt kill him :/
i spent points evenly in all stats had: 62 62 60 60 and diablo raped me :/

bard: tried since i liked sorceror but didnt want to make another sorceror to beat hellfire... nice aoe attack but has not the good ac of monk... so deleted at dungeon lvl 3

problem are: monsters who cast from far, and warrior monster who perma stun you... i had problem with a melee class to dispatch them... i had to use stone curse to kill some of those monsters and also trid to lure only 1 at a time... with sorceror you just enter room, cast cast, room clear :D

i wonder: how the hell you kill diablo with a melee class ?
he is soooooooooooooo hard :/

Nayo:

Diablo raped your Monk becouse you spent your attribute points on Strenght. Monk works different than other classes, the more strenght requirement on armor/weapon, the less damage he deals.

You should use armor that requires no strenght and a staff. If you wanna try Monk again, of course.

back on the game after several years, got +30 warrior and sorcerer after some work (lost lvl 50 ones, also lvl 14 rogue). sorcerer is fun as long I don't spam über spells, instead playing strategically (ie. stone curse, teleport, golem, melee also included), caring of fellow players and joining the slaughter lol. i dont enjoy warrior unless wielding an axe, shield is for weeds, whoopsies and girls blouses... went to bnet today and found no games to join, whats with that? WHERE IS EVERYONE?!!!!

i say warrior is the best when lvl 50 and with good gear (and spells such as teleport/healing), sorcerer for versatility

Wow, rogue made a comeback! Warrior was in the lead there for a bit. Rogue is without a doubt the most versatile class....better with spells than a warrior, and better with melee than a sorc, and the undisputed master of archery. They are solid in any type of combat. Warrior and Sorc can be decent with spells and melee respectively, but they need the highest quality items really to be such, and neither is handy with a bow by any means. That said, rogue is quite fragile, and it is with this versatility and dynamics that she makes up for this. Warrior and Sorc are more power house classes.

All in all as I said before, I really like warrior and rogue almost equally and I play them about the same. Interesting that you prefer axes, Mac. Im quite the opposite, sword and shield all the way, but my rapid fast playing style almost requires me to use a shield. Besides, use of a shield frees up a jewel spot for mana since I often play LAW, getting resistances from armor and shield (Obsidian Stars or Mammoth, Emmy Tiger shield). My 50 warrior can obtain around 410 mana with some setups, though its usually around 390 ish in co-ops. Also, as a PvP player, axe is rarely viable these situations unless you are dueling another axer.

Sorcs, meh. I have two near perfect lvl 50 sorcs, one a tank mage, other classic arty, but I dont enjoy playing them nearly as much as I do my rogue or warriors.

Interesting that you prefer axes, Mac.
mostly for style points and damage, my lvl 33 warrior hits for 133-187 with messerschmidt's reaver

My 50 warrior can obtain around 410 mana with some setups, though its usually around 390 ish in co-ops.
wow, thats quite a lot

i know how monk works...
i used a medium armor cause my light armor rag wasnt good, and the medium armor had so godly ac bonus that was better even with reduced ac monk bonus for not using light armor...

i used a staff... the one i carried till end was a unique staff taken from the body of a MATE inside the cave level, when your character talks something about: i am sorry mate you died i will avenge you, in the while i will just scrounge your body...

i spent evenly stats... 60 60 60 60
but even pumping them to the max with a char editor, i couldnt beat diablo :/

so isnt the stat points cause i maxed them all...
prolly crappy gear or i didnt use some kind of "tactic"
(like a full inventory of red potions and keep spamming click click and drinkig :P no idea otherwise how to beat diablo :D

my first diablo kill 13 years ago was hiding and sending a golem, rinse repeat till diablo died :D

last diablo kill was spamming apocalipse taken from na-krul after 2 mana potions he was dead :P
