Black Ops

I'm stuck in SP Black Ops. I have looked for help on the net but no joy.

I am in Vietnam and on the mission to 'Rendevous with Whiskey'. I have a knife and Woods has instructed me to silently take out the two guys on the boat. Every time I approach from under water however I'm detected. I've tried to surface from all four sides of the boat.

If I stay with Woods under the back of the boat I drown. If I skulk off in the background, just bobbing under the surface he doesn't take the two guys out.

I seem to be out of options, obviously I'm missing something. Any ideas what?

There should be an arrow indicating where you need to surface.

Try to avoid staying right underneath the surface and come up from almost directly under the arrow. I can't recall if you need to use a melee attack just as you surface or slightly before, or if the kill is done automatically. But I struggled with this as well, until I just gave up with trying any fancy stuff and stuck with surfacing where I was told. Took me 2-3 tries before the guys in the boat didn't notice me until it was too late... for them. :D

So anyone else trying this on the hardest difficult?

I'm trying atm, but damn it really is testing my patience. o_O Getting shot up in 0,1 seconds is not fun. :(

It is harder and from what IO can tell its a simple case you can't take more as many hits but that's about the only difference. You just need to be more cautious and let the AI squad take as much fire as possible.

Maybe it's just me Rushster, but it seems like the AI has better aim on higher difficulty as well. At least I can't recall being hit as often on hardened difficulty as I am on veteran. >_>
