Yes, so, as the title suggests, I don't understand this whole "bounty hunter" idea. In fact, the DH kills for sheer revenge, not for money, and she even appears to have a charitable side of taking in other unfortunates for free training. Bounty hunting has nothing to do with the character. I just find it strange to hear Blizzard keep mentioning a bounty hunter feel.
They weren't talking about motivation/backstory, they were trying to describe gameplay feel. Basically traps, tricks, gadgets.

I figure "vigilante" sounds more right. Like Batman.
When they said "Bounty hunter" they meant as an "inspiration"
In reality she's a Vigilante, yes...
Precisely. I reckon they don't mean a real bounty hunter (the occupation) per se but the 'bounty hunter' archetype (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BountyHunter) (personality, world view, etc) that appears in fiction.

I get the feeling that although the Demon Hunter could work for cash, she would just go out and kill demons anyway, whether or not there was any monetary reward in that. She gets a kick out of it.

stop thinking of the money side of bounty hunting
start thinking of all the silly gadgets, like grappling hooks, traps, rocket packs, flamethrowers in gloves etc
I figure "vigilante" sounds more right. Like Batman.
