Just like previous pics, I love the armor, and hate the helmet. =/

Another ridiculous head piece. lol I really hope there's a toggle.

Or circlets.

i agree. the helmet does look a little awkward. i'm sure the reasoning behind it is to make the characters easier to tell apart in a group.

Well, at least the helmet does a good job of making him look like an arrogant twat. But, good lord, helmet toggle, please. The armor itself looks fine, I think.

The armor looks great, must be a higher tier. The helmet is a bit strange, but not too bad.

outch i hope he trained his neck muscles before putting that metal object on his head.

As far as the armor goes it actually look decent, well except for the fact that he probably cant see much on his left side.

i like the armor a lot but really hate the head piece. the shoulder is a bit much too but i can deal with that.

a nice thing to note that bashiok pointed out.

edit: don't know why but blue quote isn't showing up. just pasting it below in normal text.

I think it looks sweet.

I understand the scrutiny of these things, like, what else are you supposed to do? And we're showing them off like this so we totally expect it. I sort of wish we had also included shots of what they actually look like in-game though, because there's literally no time where you'll be looking at a character head-on like this at such a close distance. (although likely in a character selection screen which doesn't exist yet...)

All development is done for game-cam. We play to game-cam, because that's what you're going to see things from. We could have a ton of varying circlets with different jewel arrangements. We could do a head piece that's a sort of small cap, or a dozen different types of small caps. But it would most likely be be wasted effort as you'd never be able to tell what they were. So there tends to be fewer, but bolder colors. There tends to be more pronounced sections of the armor, and a bit less minute detail. The sets also tend to be very bold and have a unique look, but (and maybe most importantly) maintain a coherent silhouette and look throughout all the items. The wizard in particular tends to have larger headdresses.

I also saw that fan edit of the female witch doctor, and it was pretty cool. Kudos to that guy for some nice shop'in. In my personal opinion I think that it was a bit too busy, a lot of that's going to be lost and just make the character look messy from a distance. It's also a bit too much. Remember these are very early sets. You get too crazy early on and you're making the later items not look as awesome.

I think it looks good including the helm. The helm has to be big, we need to differentiate it from the other small, "normal" helms when playing (with isometric view) I think this helm will look good in the game.

But this is how i picture the MW!

It's too small for the isometric view imo. It would look not much different than just a cheap ordinary normal helm when playing.

elganame... personally i like the large helm way more than the short one. that short one looks goofy.

Is it wrong that I want that helmet for the Barbarian and get an entire set of skills/passives designed around headbutting the legions of hell?

LOL so your saying if the wiz's helm was for a barb, and he had a headbutt skill, you would like the helm?

your edited pic looks much better in my opinion. the wizard is also more centered with shoulder armor on both sides.

I was cool with the female WD set though it could have been better, but this is terrible(the helmet, the rest rest of the armor is not bad).

blizzard if you care about you fans change this.

I think it will look great in-game, quite unique and different actually.

Yep that's phallic shoulder armour alright. That head piece might excite some of those female monsters, who knows maybe he will end up with some sort of monster charm skills then the game could possible go for an x rating.

I m feeling really pessimistic now, the wizard class looks lame and act3 is supposed to be the wizards home land(blizz let it slip last year that we were only visiting the wiz home land) and if the class is so lame then the act can have the same ridiculousness with everyone having huge hats.

Some rusian guy made another fanmade concept...

I also did another myself...

Some people hate that we use photoshop to distort other peoples art to fit our needs, but this is the way we can show people how we picture the diablo world.

I really like headgear in Hal.Nik version
his versions of WD and Wizard seems to be much more evil/agressive/badass - could be cool for some late game or rare item sets

Elganame version got some potential to, but IMO it looks a bit silly right now - like a Christmas tree or smthn =)

Not sure if this has been pointed out yet. The images from the Blizzcon press kit contain screenshots of the infamous male wizard armor set from game-cam distance. The images I've posted are cropped to just include the wizard. If you're interested in seeing the full images, check out files PvP_005 (front view) and PvP_022 (rear view) in the press kit.

Your Average WoW Player

What is it with these crazy helmet fetishes that Blizzard seems to have?! The armors look great, and then are subsequently ruined by the present of some outrageous headpiece.

God I hope there's a toggle option...

Yeah... Sue me... It's something from WoW, but it's a nice thing in WoW. There are some WEIRD helmets in WoW.

From game-cam distance, I don't think the helmet looks bad at all. The armor set looks pretty good. However, when viewed from behind, it isn't extremely flattering.

Yeah, from behind it may even look more ridiculous than from the front. I think the male wizard looks like a wiener, no matter which way you cut it.

The cloth and the effects of the cloth when the characters move is very slick, though.

Why do I get the feeling that a Wiz with a helmet will be a rare sight?

I think it will be just as rare as shako, the green "peasant" cap.
