Multiple corpses - exit game?

So I've died about three hundred times to gloams in Hell Act 4. I have around 6 corpses cluttered around an area, and some gloams are pretty much camping it.

I can't find a way to get to my bodies (I've even forgotten which one has my gear on it), and I'm afraid that if I leave the game and return the corpse that will show up won't have anything on it.

Any advice on how to get past the gloams or whether I can quit the game or not?

I think you can safely quit the game as long as you didn't equip anything else when you went to get your first corpse back. Might want to wait until someone else replies though, I'm not 100% sure on this.

If I remember correctly you get back your initial setup/body but will lose everything on the second or third or... body.

But I think that I have read somewhere that the most valuable item is retreived? What does that mean and how is that decided? Don't know...

I think the game calculates the gold value of items i.e. what Charsi would give for them. Then keeps the body that has the highest gold value. That's how it goes if I remember correctly :scratchchin:

I managed to get my corpses back after a couple more deaths, but still it's good to know how that works. Thanks!

You get the very first body you lost back. I have first hand experience with this. I thought I would be clever and equip some backup gear to get my body back, I died and when I re-entered another game I got my first body back but lost the third one that had the back up on it. You can die like 80 times and when you quit you will always get your first body back no matter what. Good luck ;)

for some their first corpse has the most expensive gear, but if you die, then equip an ap/pb, and other normal gear, then die again, your 2nd+ corpses will have more gold value than your first and you will not get your first corpses gear back

Your memory fails you. It is as IncubatorJones said, but maybe the equipment on the first corpse had a higher monetary value in your case. If you don't believe it, make the following experiment:

Take a character, drop all equipment in town except a worthless item, get killed, equip the remaining items, die again, leave game. You will get the second corpse then.

You are doing that with worthless gear, of course ;)


You can die like 80 times....
BTW, after having produced 16 corpses, any equipment on your current character will drop to the ground when dying again instead of producing yet another corpse.

which is a bit alarming since most unique gear has an undervalued gold value.
