Multiplayer quests

Hi Diablo 2 Community ! I have a question regarding multiplayer quests :
I'm partied with 7 chars and I help the finish quests (game created by ones that need the quests). When I do a quest for them I need all of those chars to be present at the "hot" spot (let's say finishing diablo or mephisto) or I need only one to do everybody's quests ? All chars have the same quests to do.

I know for a fact that only one character who needs the quest needs to be present for Baal. I'm fairly certain the same applies to all quests. As long as there is one character present to gain the quest, everyone else gains it also.

Also the character will earn the quest even when dead as long as he does not hit escape :)
