I've been getting this a lot lately when trying to navigate to the forum. Just now, I had to keep refreshing to get here. Usually says, "database error. Your database appears to be offline, contact an administrator." Something to that effect. I'll have to screen shot it next time.
Have you guys been making updates to the site, perhaps?
Thanks. I'll look into this.
This has happened to me too occasionally. Usually it only takes a reload to get to whatever page I was trying to load. Interestingly, it happened a lot more during the week before Ladder reset. My guess is that it had something to do with the increased load, since there were more people frequenting the forums for some last-minute Ladder trading.
Happened to me a few hours ago:
Trying to reach the site via URL:

Google search for diablo.incgamers.com and using one of the connected to diabloincgamers links:

That's the exact page I get as well. It just happened to me again as I viewed the trade forum for us west. When it happens, a quick refresh can solve the problem or it can take several hours.

it seems to be getting worse... at least to me. And obviously i always get those errors when i just typed a way too long post, which isnt posted because of the error :( can it be helped?
moiselvus, I always ctrl-c a post before hitting submit or preview. Worst case you can at least ctrl-v it into Notepad and save it. (Well I write long posts in Notepad and copy into the forum, but the point is the post is saved.) Pressing the back button on your browser should return you to the post screen too.
I get those "database errors" extremely often (as in once per daily visit) though it typically only lasts a few minutes and after some page refreshes or a bathroom break I'm back in... I've tried a few obvious things like reboot/reconnecting internet, clearing browser history/cache/cookies but nothing seems to fix it until the server "just decides"...

Indeed, I get these every now and then too, and it definitely isn't client side, it's server side.

I have made a few tweaks this evening to speed things up and prevent the error. Fingers crossed!

thanks, Rushter. i just wanted to add that i stay up late at night and every night at 12:30 CST, i get a Database Error and it lasts for at least thirty minutes, never more than that. idk if that has happened to anyone else (every night at 12:30 CST or whatever time zone you are in and lasting for thirty minutes), but just wanted to add my two cents and see if anyone else encounters this. :)
thanks, guys.

Same time and time zone for me as well. I've been getting a DNS Error now that takes me to yahoo. Says the site doesn't exist.

I got this just minutes later, at 12:30.

Happened again tonight. I worked the late shift and as I tried to navigate to the site at 12:33, I made it as far as the main page this time. Navigating to the forum was a no-go though and I'm finally able to get here now. Usually take a couple hours. Also, when I am finally able to get to the forum I always have to re-enter my log-in info despite having checked the "remember me" box.

I still have this problem and have every night at 12:30. I guess there's no fix for this.

I'm getting database errors as well. Usually a couple times a day. First around when I start work (8 am gmt+1) and then again when I get back home around 4 pm gmt+1 or so. Sometimes I can just reload the page and it works, other times it can take everywhere from a couple minutes to half an hour.

if it's at the same time each night it'll probably be because of one of the many back ups that occur during the day.

if i may ask, how long does it last? recently within the past week or so, it went from 30 minutes to almost an hour.
thank you, Elly. :)

Database errors only happen in the morning. For some strange reason.

Indeed.
Seems for me at least that it starts around 7.40 am and lasts until around 8.30 am.
Edit: That would be gmt+1.

I get this every single night, from 10:30pm to approx. 11:30pm PST. This is my "me" time usually......after kiddos go to bed etc...
This, plus the slow loading pages is kind of frustrating, because the community is great. :(

Happens to me pretty near every night.

The reason why its frequent and on a regular basis is likely to be that's the maintenance window for the servers. I do wish it was faster myself, not sure if its hardware or bandwidth but its better than nothing =)

I got this error "Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /var/home/diiholding/public_html/forums/includes/functions_search.php on line 219"
I can't post my own threads, only comment on others

If that's true, then it seems like they're either getting more stuff done, or slacking at the job.
I usually had downtime of around 15 mins or so when I first noticed those database errors. From somewhere around 08.00-08.10 to just around 08.20 gmt+1.
Now it lasts from 08.00 or even 07.50 until 08.40.
if you compare timezones we are mostly talking about the exact same time frame ^^ long live world times :) i have it in the morning aswell. i usually start at 7.00 am CET at work and around 8.30/45 am CET it is online. It does look like the servers are in some kind of maintenance and to be honest i think this is caused by a reboot of a cluster which isnt configured correctly :) i dont know if the admins have any sayings about this? It looks like it is not related to the site itself but rather to the servers where the database is on! :)
