View Full Version : Help with Crafting a FCR ring
I have read the whole page about crafting on Arreat Summit site, But i still dont get it. I am getting confused of Ilvl,Clvl
area level and all other words :D
So my question is , how do i craft a ring that would have these stats:
10% FCR
x - strength
and maybe life , the most important is the FCR!
Which Recipe should i use , and what ring do i need?, and My Char does he need to be lvl 93.
Very Courious ! Thx for an answer !
// sorry for bad english ;P

The best recipe:
Blood Ring (Magic Ring + Sol Rune + Perfect Ruby + Any Jewel)
+ (1-5) To Strength
(1-3)% Life Stolen Per Hit
+(10-20) To Life
This one will get your +str and your +life, but will have to get the +fcr from a random mod, so you'll need quite a few tries. There is no crafted ring that has a fixed fcr mod (at least not in the current patch, don't know about early crafting).
I'm not shure about the Ilvl and character lvl thing, but my gut feeling tells me you don't need to be that high to get 10%fcr (which is a lvl 5 mod). The lvl 93 has something to do with crafting for +2 skills amulets without having to care where in hell the magic amulet they use drops. you're better of crafting with a lower lvl character since then the game has less possible options to choose from. I'd try with a lvl 29 char, but that's just a guess on my part, never been one for calculating the perfect lvl for something.

I've been looking at the formulas for craftin on the arreat summit, and the clvl 93 thing has to do with the amount of random affixes you can get. At clvl 93 you can use gambled amulets and rings in your recipe and be certain you get 4 random affixes. Using a lower clvl and/or a lower ilvl item to craft will give you less chance to get 4 affixes, and will also lower the ilvl of the crafted item.
Let's assume you want no other random mods than the 10%fcr (lvl 5 mod). This means you'll need to bring the ilvl of the ring as close to ilvl=5, meaning any mods higher than lvl 5 will not be able to spawn on the ring, giving you the most chance to actually get the desired mod. Somewhere in the formula, they compare the ilvl to the qlvl of the ring (which is 1 for amulets, I assume 1 for rings too?), so this part has no effect.
Meaning you need a ring dropped from a lvl 5 monster to get ilvl 5 on it, then do the crafting with a lvl 5 char. This will bring the alvl to lvl 5 (if I understand the formula on AS correctly). This means you'll have 40% chance to get 1 affix, 20% chance to get 2, 3 or 4 affixes each. The possibilities are endless:
+10fcr
5-10%mf
1 mana after each kill
5-10 to a single resist
1-5 to mana
1-2 str/dex/vit/nrg (on top of the fixed str bonus)
25-40% more gold
These are all <lvl 5 mods (mildly) interesting for a caster. Higher lvls of items will give more possible mods (meaning less chance to find the 10%fcr). There are lots of other <lvl5 mods, not listing them all here.

Sorry for the slight hijack :)
I'd like to craft a safety amulet with:
+2 to sorc skill and
+15-20 all res
if any of these come on top that will be great..
+str
+dex
+life
Is it safe to gamble amulets and craft with a lvl 95 character in this case?
Thanks!

any amulet that is gambled then crafted by a level 93 or higher character will have a chance of getting +2 skills.

Meaning you need a ring dropped from a lvl 5 monster to get ilvl 5 on it, then do the crafting with a lvl 5 char. This will bring the alvl to lvl 5 (if I understand the formula on AS correctly).
The ilvl on the crafted ring is calculated as clvl/2 + ilvl/2, but both figures are rounded down, so if you use a ring with an ilvl of 5 and a lvl 5 char the crafted ring will have an ilvl of 4. I'd suggest a lvl 10 char and rings from the Blood Moor (or gambled with a lvl 1 char, they'll be ilvl 1-5), easier than hunting for ilvl 5 rings from monsters!

PyroN: Have a look at the affix calculator in my sig. Choose rings, and then click the link for crafted items.
This link already has those options selected. (http://diablo3.ingame.de/spiel/expansion/itemdb/affix_chances_crafted.php?lang=en&version=lod&patch=111&type=ring&item=Ring&sortby=&mlvl=0&qlvl=1&ilvl=5)
