Are the Diablo books/novels worth reading?

I've always been somewhat interested in the backstory and frustrated that Blizzard did such a lousy job of storytelling in this particular game.

Yeah I'd like to hear as well.

Also, are they very gorey and gross?

There are no rainbows mentioned in the books.

They are in the spirit of the game, so yeah there is gore. They're anything you'd expect from a story told in the atmosphere of the series, or at least Diablo 2.

Typical sword and sorcery novels. I'd suggest the Diablo Archive as a jumping off point. The stories get better, the last being the best!

I have read every available Diablo novel (and Comic book) and I was only slightly disappointed by one = Kingdom of Shadow. The others were fantastic reads. I highly recommend them all. I eagerly await new ones.

*I'm sorry I didn't read Diablo Archives since that would be redundant.
