I wonder how + resource stat will be handled on items.

Diablo facebook page discussion:

Diablo As you may be aware every class in Diablo III will have their own resource system. The Barbarian will use Fury; Witch Doctor, Mana; and Wizard, Instability. We also completed an early implementation of the Monk's resource system just before the holiday break, and that's continuing to undergo programming and visual refinement. It's a resource certainly fitting of a holy warrior.

John Everett Diablo titles have always been easy to learn but hard to master. One aspect of that I think has been the single resource system, Mana. Of course some classes needed more of it than others, but no class could do much without any mana at all (mana burn monsters hurt all classes). I’ve played a lot of WoW and other games and I understand the reasons for different resource systems but I’m a little concerned about itemization and how multiple resource systems will affect it. My suggestion would be having something like a ‘+ Resource’ stat on items that every class can use, but then if you do that I guess you might as well just have a single resource

Diablo @John Everett It definitely affects itemization in some way but there are plenty of different solutions. One could be as you said having a generic +Resource stat that translates differently to each class. Or similarly hide the +Resource stat and just show the conversion for your current class. Maybe if you Shift+Mouse over the item it'll show the conversion for all classes... In any case, there are very workable solutions but since all the resource systems aren't in and finalized it's a bit early to start itemizing for it.

I'm just glad that they took away mana from the barb and sorc, WWing and suddenly having to stop and/or die because Mr Mana Burn managed to hit you once is quite frustrating, especially when in maggot lair lvl 3 with no tps made... And don't even get me started with the sorc, you run out of mana and the only thing you can do is make a town portal and get more sweet potions, with that option removed/nerfed in diablo 3, alternate resource is like a gift from the gods.
