Mara's been playing it for about less than a week and just finished the first one. omg... beautiful is all i can say.

what are y'all's take on it?

First one was good, second one if I can remember was also good. I personally prefer Devil May Cry, if we're talking about "Those kind of games". I usually get a bit bored of repitition. But yeah, its a pretty game.

God of War 1 & 2 are probably two of my favourite PS2 games ever. I loved every minute of both games - lots of brutal violence, an interesting story line, and some genuinely ingenious level and puzzle design. When I replay the games I still find it really fun, especially at the higher difficulty levels (although some parts are so difficult they border on insanity). I'm really looking forward to GoW3 - although I don't own a PS3, so I'll have to figure out another way to play it.

I gotta say, my favorite part of the GoW games is the control. Hell, I could be wasted and still pull off some pretty sick combos

(reminiscent of how great the controls in the Tony Hawk games were)

I got into the God of War series from playing Chains of Olympus on the PSP. What a fantastic game, I've always been a fan of these types of games too, actually. I have always had a soft spot for the DMC series, they were all fantastic (Except for 2, that was just weird) and bought a PS2 just so I could play DMC1 and God Hand (best game ever).
I watched my roommate play God of War 2 for a couple hours, it was totally awesome.

I love the GOW Collection. Recently got it for the PS3, and played it since. I beat 1&2, but when replaying #1 on extreme, I got stuck in the centaur sacrifice XD


Also, the GoW3 demo...it's freaking insane is all I can say.
