Hey fellor's, is there an aldur;s build guide here? I can find it, or is the set to crappy to use?
Was just wondering what build would work best with this set. Hopefully a melee build.
Probably melee but by the time you find the whole set and can use it, you'll have much better uniques and runewords available. Especially for the weapon slot. The boots aren't too bad with 40% r/w and +50 Life. But seriously the weapon is completely terrible (96 top end damage?) and the armor is a rare drop, has a requirement of 76, and doesn't match up to even shaftstop. Plus the bonuses it gives aren't really consistent, it is pretty scattered around, Diablo 2 is a specialization game, you want a focus.

The biggest problem is the weapon. It would have been so much better if it is elite instead of exceptional, and that the +damage% of the set is not on the weapon. That really killed the set. I love how they say it's not a bug but a balance issue on Arreat Summit too. It also doesn't give enough +skills and no faster cast rate. The closest thing you can make it work is a fire claw's druid, but even then the set is still absolutely not worth it.

ya, the weapons way to low damage for melee, i was thinking maybe a fire elemental build, but then i said F this crappy set man.
The lower exceptional uniques would be better then this set for a fire ele druid.
To bad, looks like i'll have to give it away.
I remember using the boots until I got war travs for my zon :)

Summoner/FC Is the most Viable build for Aldurs. The weapon simply lacks the punch and the helm doesn't do ANYTHING compared to Jalal's. Also, Heavy Armor on a Druid? Please. Should have been in a Scarab Husk.

Fissure/Summoner build also works quite well with Aldur's set.

Scarab Husk.
aww c'mon man, I don't want my classy Druid to be walking around in some smelly old bug shell.

Fine, Dusk Shroud. Anything is better than Shadow Plate.

doesn't having the ED off the weapon increase your overall damage dealt?
I'm a FC druid currently using aldurs until I get my main stuff together

Yes, but it's additive to other off weapon ED (Fury). If it was on the weapon it'd be MUCH better.
I like it just fine for fire druids. So many slots to put fire facets. Yum. Also matches my medusa's gaze for ctc lower resist.

I feel that the massive ED% given by Aldur's set is wasted because of the low base damage of the weapon. Blizzard should change the off weapon ED to something like add + x damage or +min/max.

Or just make the weapon it's elite equivalent >.>

Or just make the weapon it's elite equivalent >.>Even then it's weak, as it has no ED on itself.

Yes, but then it's viable. Adding the 300 ED to the elite version is borderline silly, though Druids could use something silly >.>.

Why is it silly? Even oath have the same kind of ED spawn, and it can be ethereal.

Yes but Blizzard obviously wanted a power gap like that between Runewords and standard items. Why else would bull like Enigma exist?
