I decided to build one of these as my meteorb is no good V ubers. I saw a smiter today and he basically destroyed uber Izual and he was only level 79. Atm my pala is only 50 but I struggle at killing things on NM.
I followed the build and so far my smite is level 6, sacrifice 17, zeal 23.
I have got my hands on Gris armor, Guardian Angel, and Gris crown, are any of these good for a cheap build ?
Also what other cheap items should I be using.
And is the Redeemer any good to me ?

Help appreciated.

Yea meteorb cant take on ubers.

1pnt smiter is only if you have GG gear. A cheap smiter should max smite. You're also missing a lot of good gear. You absolutely need crushing blow.

A cheap smiter would use this type of set up

Guillaume's helm
Duress armor
treachery for prebuff

Shield
4os elite shield any will do with 4x pdiamonds
griz shield with 3x pdiamonds

weap black

gloves
draculs or laying of hands

boots
gore riders

ammy
any all res amulet or random res amulet

2x ravenfrost or raven/dwarfstar

Stats
str for gear
dex for block AFTER holy shield is one
vit - rest
energy none

If you're not using dracul's then have a lifetap wand on switch

Here's an easy build for it
20x fanaticism
20x smite
20x holy shield
10x salvation
10x fire rez
10x light rez
All prequs

Prebuff fade with treachery, cast lifetap with wand then start smashing, Use salvation against Mephisto, fanaticism against baal and diablo. Getting the organs is hard for this build because it's not good against a lot of mobs, but it can win against the organ holders.

This can also kill Dclone =D

If you want to try 1pnt smite/1pnt zeal then you're gonna need a lot of GG gear

for a better build that's not useless in big crowds of monsters,
1 point in Smite and the rest into a Sacrifice/Zeal synergy would be much better.
20 points Holy Shield
20 points Fanaticism
1 point Salvation (depending on how much +skills and stacked resists you have)

That makes an easy 40~50 point build.
If you're looking at an 80 point build (easily finished at level 80), you have points to spare into Zeal/Smite/Defiance(for synergy).
Resist Fire and Resist Light aren't required at all.

Not true.
My budget Smiter cost me approximately 8 high runes (not exactly cheap, but not enough to be considered GG) to put together, and it runs on 1 point Smite just fine.

8 high runes is pretty expensive if you can't even afford that. At that point I think you can use a low hoz, low grief, low fort and a bunch of other better end runewords. With that setup, 1pnt zeal/1pnt smite is super easy and can prob ez ubers and the holders. Without that stuff, I still say max smite cuz it'll give mroe damage.

Even with the cheapest setup possible you don't really need max'd smite as it's the CB that is doing 99% of the killing for you.
If i had to do a cheap as possible setup i'd use something along the lines of:

Helm: Guillaumes Face socketed Ith or whichever of Ral Ort Thul resist you are lowest on.
Armour: Guardian Angel (Treachery prebuff) socketed as above^
Belt: Credendum / Thundergods
Boots: Gores / Goblin Toes / Tearhaunch
Gloves: Low Dracs (you just want the ctc Life Tap) [Or LoH + Life Tap Wand]
Weapon: 2os Heavens Light / Black Runeword, tho there are quite a few decent + cheap alternatives here.
Rings: Ravenfrost / Dwarfstar (the dwarfstar could be replaced with a nice Rare with stats and/or resists)
Amulet: Something with resists on, Mahim Oak / Saracens (assuming the IM won't overwrite the LT - need coffee so not sure if it will or not on the ubers), or just some gambled or cubed Prismatic amulet.
Shield: 4 Pdiamonds in a pally shield (elite ideally, exceptional if i had to, making another one will only cost 4 pgems after all) with the highest base res i could find / Ancient's Pledge in the same sort of 3os shield / Rhyme in the same sort of 2os shield / Gris Shield. Basically as much resists as you can get, ideally with some sort of additional blocking on it.

Fill up your inventory with whatever useful charms you find along the way and if the budget will stretch that far, pop an Um in the GA and Guillaumes if you can afford it, otherwise stick with the Ral Ort or Thul. Poison resist can be done with antidote pots / Sandstorm Treks or Venom Grips (+Life Tap wand) for Lilith.

My budget Smiter cost me approximately 8 high runes

Made me giggle aswell ;). Tho i'd definately agree with your build.

I've made a fairly successful 1pt smiter with cheap gear, similar to what Shanksie listed, though using Smoke for armor and IK Belt.

Sure, Grief is nice, but anything's possible with Smite and Life Tap.

I had 1 point smiters totaling to something like 2 or HRs before, and I am sure I can do it with less if I change a few gears around.

my apologies for the bad choice of words,
I suppose "cheap" and "budget" are arbitrary words.

here's a super-cheap and viable ubers build:

hat: guillaumes (pgems)
ammy: any ammy with res (pgems)
armour: Smoke (Nef+Lum), Viper, Lionheart (all cheap)
weapon: wizardspike bone knife (pgems)
belt: t-gods, string of ears, credemdum, IK...... (pgems)
gloves: any dracs (pgems - lem) <-- you want this for the lifetap proc and the open wounds, otherwise crafted blood gloves and maybe Um your wizknife or use gores boots.
boots: goblin toes (pgems) or gores (pgems)
rings: ravenfrost + who cares (pgems)
shield: 4sox, 30+ res pally shield, socky with pdiamonds (you should be able to find this yourself really, pgems).

switch: a wand with lifetap charges and any shield.

charms: whatever life charms you can scrape together.

that setup with salvation should give you reasonable resists against mephs conviction along with decent CB. et voila: ubers smiter built from scraps and pgems.

Thanks a lot guys. Also when I fight the ubers, what should my attack be?
Should I be using zeal with fanta aura ?

no, you should be using Smite for it's "Always Hits" and "ignore Target Blocking*" properties.

Jobo,

Keep the faith, Brotha. All is not lost. Everyone has provided you with very useful info. And if you're patient, you can get the gear you need for cheap. once you get your Smiter going. You'll upgrade as needed. Not sure if you have seen it, but there is a useful guide with all the prementioned, and more info. I have found it incredibly useful for building my Smiter. Good Luck!

If you happen to be on USWEST_SC_NL, hit me up. I will gladly help you get some trades.
