where i live there aint good services available, being adsl 3Mb kinda best in the market (and RIDICULOUSLY overpriced). a friend told me once no matter the bandwidth, adsl connections suffer from long ping times compared to other types (even ones with less band). i couldnt even play UT 2004 as every person's ping was 2 digit and mine was 500ms (LOL), in fact last thing i played online was D2 LoD back in 2003. anyway im curious, whats the minimum connection (or what u think will be) for Bnet play (minimum playable, not minimum itself)?
if topic already covered pls link.

You'll probably need a more than a 56k. This seems like a question to talk with your ISP.

I think the bare minimum would be at least 1mbps.

While ADSL connections are not as good IMO (phone cord = fail) I think that you will be playable on that connection.
Im sure there will be lag and teleporting of players, but you should be able to get by.
I used to play on 56k ,it wasn't so bad it put me off ,it was more I felt a disadvantage to other players.Blackwalls appeared more often on 56k but you could play for a good while without lag and I even remember being able to play with summoners.I think people tend to exagerate the minimum based on the maximum current available bandwidth (adsl, cable etc)but D2 is an old game.

oh man blackwalls...i havent thought about those in YEARS.
Well I guess its what your prepared to tolerate.Im on 8 Mbit but it seems no different than when I was on 512 Kbit.If I went back to 56 k I might be less tolerant because of whet Ive got used to.

Not to mention that most sites are now designed for broadband speeds.
I live in New Zealand, and we have limits on how much we can download per month. When you go over the limit, you have two options; a. Speed decreased to 64kbps for rest of month, or b. pay for every MB/GB you download after limit.
Currently I'm on 64kbps, and let me tell you ... it is horrible. Most sites are designed for broadband now.
Even using Adblock Plus, Flashblock, NoScript & RequestPolicy, the loading times of websites is abysmal.
