Hi ya'll!

I'm going to play an assassin, I don't know any builds to do this

I've heard something about whirlwind assassins, I've checked the skill calculators and can't find a skill named like that :P What name does it use?

Also I don't have any gear ready, going PvM solo btw

How should I distribute my skills and my stats? what tactics should I use?

You wont be able to do a WW sin as a starting char as its a skill gained through the runeword'chaos'.

Untwinked, I recommend a Lightning Trapper. They can solo the game, and with Fire Blast maxed along with LS and it's synergies, LI are no problem. They aren't as gear dependent as the kickers, and have excellent crowd control (HC viable untwinked).

Yes, a trapper is the best starting character of all assassin-builds.

However, you should know that the fun factor of a kicker is >>>>>>>> a trapper. Once you have the gear to build a kicker or a hybrid of some sort (WWsin) you will never, ever, go the pure trapper route again. For those who actually make a pure trapper as their second+ assa-build, cannot seriously have given the previously listed builds a chance.

You dont need the top-end gear to enjoy a kicker, my HC-assa is currently lvl 89, dont have any gear with best runewords cause im poor, and are still having tons of fun in hell. And it is in hell where the kicker really shines, my windy for example was crushing everything in nm (which is something that almost all builds out there do with decent gear) but when it comes to hell, he is nothing compared to the assa, nothing. And their gear is equal in price.

Hmm, I guess what Im trying to say is that start with an trapper, go mfing, and dont give up on the class if you get bored with it. When you are bored, you just go and make yourself a kicker ok?

PvM WWsin of any kind won't do well at all. And repairs are ....Ouch.

Hybrids could just be a k/t, which can kinda do well untwinked, depending on how lucky you are (find death's set and angelic combo early, you're set).

ever gone ww'ing through a pack of monsters with a "100% hit causes monster to flee" weapon?

it's a hoot. in any case, a ww-sin can't even be a ww-sin until they can equip that Chaos claw. which is a long way away when you're playing through.

Hybrids could just be a k/t, which can kinda do well untwinked, depending on how lucky you are (find death's set and angelic combo early, you're set).

Strength or Black weapon, Smoke armour (lionheart or treachery if you're lucky on NM forge), plain light'ish elite boots (eventually), Rhyme shield, Lore helm?

we're most of the way to hell viable with a couple halfway decent NM countess runs.

slvl12 d-talon (imho, but pump thy traps early. you won't "need" to kick too much until hell), 1pt venom, mind-blast, master. rest to traps.

Oh thanks to black, you can run even just so much as a norm countess.

But for untwinked, the trapper usually takes it, though kickers are more fun.

Then again, you could go with the coffee and become a kicker later ^^
