Pardon me if this is not in the right section.
I just got a new video card in an attempt to remove the lag in the Arcane Sanctuary experienced with my on-board video card. I bought an Nvidia Geforce FX 7200 GS and it's even worse than the on-board.
My computer is an HP Pavilion Phoenix SE a6655f with:
- AMD Phenom X4 91503 Quad-core processor
- 5 GB system memory
- 640 GB hard drive
- Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition with SP1
- On-board video card is: Nvidia 6150 SE
I can watch videos just fine. Diablo II is the only game I run, and even have installed on the computer. I don't use the computer for anything too extensive; essentially just web browsing and using Microsoft Office.
I don't think Vista is the issue because it worked fine before; I simply lagged in the Arcane Sanctuary, presumably because it's the most graphics-intensive area in the game.
I've gone through as many video options as I can find, and lowered the settings as far as possible, and still no luck. I lag the most at the character selection screen. When I actually managed to create a game, I had low FPS, but was able to move around with semi-slow response. When I turned on my mini-map the game came to a grinding halt and my FPS went down to 2.
Any ideas as to how I can fix my problem? I'm running out of ideas.
