View Full Version : Have an ETH BotD blade, what Druid type
So, have a BoTD blade that I am dying to use. I have read all the guides for druids and am interested in a werebear or wearewoldf druid. Prob werebear. I know nothing about Druids though. The guide I was most interested in was teh Kodiad guide, that that seemed entirely predicated on crushing blow. Most the others were elemental, and that' just doesn't excite me.
Any ideas about skill/build for a bear that can solo Hell with some players in it and have some fun with? What are the one point wonders?
I was also thinking about a chains of Honor armor, metalgrid amy, mid-vamp gaze. How does that sound and suggestions for other gear?
Also, what type of merc would be best?
Previously I was mostly just played barbs, but there's something really hot about a huge bear tearing stuff up.
Blade?

I don't know anything about Maulers, So I say go Fury - I'lle let someone else dispute for ya.
The real 1pt wonder for bears = Shockwave.

Ya.
Thanks for the reply Rawness.
This thread makes me sad. The point was you can't have BoTD in a blade. If you mean a Colossus Blade, then it still sucks, since even with the ias the base weapon is slow. Make one in a polearm or thundermaul ( Eth of course ). Then go wolf with Fury.
you must be sad indeed, because i believe everyone who plays diablo can deduct blade means colossus blade in this case. 6fpa fury doesnt suck in my opinion, especialy with botd, btw fury with botd thundermaul has 7fpa. and you cant make botd in the polearm, because it has 5 sockets maximum. i know you meant elite polearms in general, just wanted to show you how stupid it can look, Akimbo.
What druid type? Fury druid with heart of wolverine and dire wolves.

Three word question: Great poleaxe?

No, a blade is a blade, it's a specific item. The usual short term is "CB" when talking about colossus blades.
By the way according to this: http://home.comcast.net/~thedragoon/wereformadvanced.html ( calculator from the sticky ) BoTD Thundermaul reaches 6fpa. So let's see, it's the same speed as a BoTD CB, but does around twice as much damage. Hmm.
I don't understand what you mean when you say "You can't make BoTD in the polearm." The weapon you're referring to is the PoleAXE which belongs to the PoleARM family of weapons. As you notice, I said polearm, not poleaxe. So while I didn't state a specific weapon, I left it to the OP to investigate which polearms he could use.
So no offence, but you made yourself look stupid by trying to be a smart ***. :coffee:

To answer the OP's question: a BOTD colossus blade is by no means a bad weapon for a fury druid, though if you can find BOTD in an eth great poleaxe you'll really be in business.
Oh, and Vamp Gaze? Use Jalal's. It's got resistances, attack rating, skills... everything you'd ever want. (except Dual Leech, which BotD has anyway)

Ya. It feels kind of stupid to say I don't care, because I do, the thing is, that you're making an actual point of it... huu... some people want to portray themselves as smart, yet ends up looking like assholes, pointing out semantics like it means a ****ing thing. You flippantly ignore your own mistakes and condemn others... whatever.
yes, i mixed up names poleaxe and polearm and the fury speed is the same. now i look like stupid and i accept that role. its human to be mistaken.
my arguments were wrong and next time i will try much harder to not make the same mistake again. i'll try to be more reasonable when making judgements too.
nevertheless, knowing the reason why i wrote it and knowing that i really am not that smart is what makes me confident. so good day to you

I believe the guide you looked at was SSoG's it is based around the hunger skill. I suspect you want to make a mauler. Zabo's guide might be more what you are looking for. http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=442527 It is a pvp guide so you have to make some changes for pvm but you are probably looking to make a mauler. I am assuming you want PvM. I'd say fort or duress for armour rather than chains. He makes gear suggestions and they are fairly solid. Shockwave is your friend.
Awesome. Thanks for all the help guys The discussion pertinent to the Druids was very enlightening. :)
