I've never heard of this, but after doing some research it seems it's a pretty common scam.

Apparently the guy used a name VERY similar name to another friend I play with (stalking me?). Well, I never heard of the DnD scam so he asked about my 'rank.' Telling me to type /DnD and then my username and password. Feeling suspicious, I left the room and created a new one of my own and typed the info. He later messaged me "you coming back?" - and that's all it took for him to take all of my gear from my characters.

I'm not going to go into further details (just do a search), but the guy left me with nothing, losing about a year of gear searching (torches, annihilus's, end-game gear, etc.)

Ya, you could call me a sucker and uber noob, but just a reminder to NEVER type your info in game (seems like a no-brainer; but I thought in a private game by myself I'd be safe).

We have a guide on things like this here (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=388625)

basically, anytime anyone messaged you, you auto msged them and told them your username/password

Also, begging for items is frowned upon here

Next time when somone tells you to type in a battle.net command you don't know, try to find out it's purpose before you try it :)

something like this happend to me once, long ago.. - I was lookin' for a angelic ring - Not sure.. thought it was angelic - and I was prepared to offer a little for it..

but the guy said: " join my clan and you'll get it for free.."
I was like.. M'okay. - I'll join ( - WTf - clans @ D2?! )
he than asked me to do /dnd and type my password.
I never even heared of the /dnd code at that time - but I knew I wasnt goin' to post my password anywere, - I thought /dnd followed by my password was just goin' straight through the chatroom so everybody could see..

so I typed /dnd Iroxxor - or something like that - I created a password that wasn't really mine.. - he than wispered me, - left the game.. and I never heared from him no more..

15 min. later when I entered the chatroom :
Failed to log on.. 12 times..

the scammer actually tried to log on 12 times, untill he finaly realised that the password was false..

- And, no free angelic ring for me ;(
