View Full Version : Mouse cursor disappears on Firefox
I noticed that when on diii.net and using Firefox, the mouse cursor disappears after a while if it stays still. This happens on other tabs too if diii.net is open. This doesn't occur on the forums. Same thing happens on two different computers, both running Windows XP and Firefox (3.0.12 and 3.5.1). It's not a big deal, but decided to let you know and see if other are experiencing the same "problem".

So it doesn't happen without the site open in any tab? :p
I hardly think a website would mess up cursor settings unless it attempted to change effects/animations. It's probably a system setting/glitch. Power saving settings? Mouse drivers? Is Windows up to date? Last resort sfc /scannow.
I've read this issue before and that it happens in some applications and not others, but it always ended up being a random minor system issue.

I found out this the other day, itīs those videos hosted up in threads or news or whatever.
They are streaming something, and then something makes the cursor disappear for some reason. If you close the browser and open again in a page that doesnīt have any videos being streamed, this wonīt happen.

When you close the diii.net tab, the cursor behaves normally. When you open it again, the problem comes back.

One of the computers (home) I've experienced this on, has logitech mouse and I keep Windows up to date. The other (work) has HP mouse and automatic updates are off (I update about two times a year). Firefox settings are about default.
I have not tested on other computers/web browsers, because I don't consider it to be that big of a deal.
EDIT: Same thing with IE 8.
The cursor disappears after a few seconds so I don't think it's a power saving setting + it happens only with diii.net so far. This doesn't happen on other sites that have video streaming.
This is just a minor annoyance, but if it a problem to all Firefox users, then I think this should be looked at.

This good reasoning, because mouse cursor disappears when you watch videos in full screen on other video stream sites (i.e. youtube). Could it be that some videos on the site simulate full screen mode although they're not actually full screen?
Seems to be ok now. It could've been an ad on the site or someone did something to fix it. Anyways, problem kind of solved.
