Noticed something odd last night and thought I'd ask you guys since I couldn't rationalize it...

Playing with a barb friend, my chance to hit was 1% lower than his despite having almost triple the attack rating (I had ~1750 and he had around ~680). He was 2 levels higher than me -- 18 to my 16, in early Act 2 Normal.

Other information that I don't think changes anything:
I was in ww form of course.
I was using an angelic sickle.
He's an axe barb using berserker axes.

Based on the equation I didn't think that my chance to hit should be so much lower than his at equal AR values, and especially not lower than his when i have ~2.5 times as much even if I'm 2 levels lower. I tried switching weapon types in case it was a hidden handicap on swords. Is there some information I'm missing here or is there some hidden handicap or variation in chance to hit for ww that's lower than others? I apologize if I'm missing something very basic but I couldn't find the answer elsewhere, and thank you for the help.

Chance to hit is calculated for a certain monster. Perhaps that is the difference?

The chance to hit value isn't very accurate anyway.

We made sure to check for the same monster. I know the number isn't always accurate but I'd feel more comfortable knowing if there's some sort of bug -- it listed 82% chance to hit a marauder despite my having an absurdly high ~1750AR in normal act 2 and I certainly missed far more than I'd like.

A lower clvl affects the chance to hit significantly if you examine the formula. That being said, the character screen (and especially the chance to hit display) lies so much that you just shouldn't look at it at all.
