I was cleaning WK and got poisoned by a Cadaver. Since I am playing an ES sorc, I don't care about having 1 life so I just went on. And then:

No other monsters anywhere near, so poison's the only explanation I have. Anyone else experienced this? Anyone knows how to avoid it? Would higher life/resists help?

If the poison is reapplied while you have 1 life, you'll kick the bucket :whistling:

Then there should be no way to have been killed by that dead cadaver, assuming all poison clouds had truly disappeared.

Well anyway, getting to 1 life while in the WSK is a bad idea however you put it. Best to keep yourself from reaching that point somehow. More res, more life, antidote pots, drinking a pot or other methods can all work, myself I often use prayer merc + insight to gain a good health regen to counter poison on my sorcs. On lightning sorcs that use infinity mercs you can use phoenix on switch along with your cta, insta full health and mana after most fights.

I doubt a light sorc would use Malice...

And if he died from life drain it wouldn't say "slain by Cadaver".

No, with 300 life on hell I would've noticed it earlier :)

Kijya must be right, probably my merc or me killed another one off the screen without seeing him, and then I teled into the remnants of his posthumous cloud. At first I thought that low life + negative res + very high poison damage gets rounded the wrong way somehow, but I've tried to reproduce it by hooking up with every cadaver I met, without any success. :dontknow:

Next time don't teleport WSK with 1 health ;). Theirs your solution.

:doh: Why didn't I think of that? I'll follow that advice :)

Could it be possible that it was one of those spells that Baal occasionally casts on you as you run through the WSK? Not sure what it says if you get killed by that. Assuming you took damage last from a cadaver, or if you were still poisoned from one, maybe the game thinks that a cadaver killed you.

I initially thought that but I think it says that 'Baal' killed u rather than a cadaver.

It says "killed by Baal", I'm sure of it. "an evil force" is in meph's lair.

You probabaly stepped on one of those exploding bugs :) oh the pun... But seriously, like there are scorpions in Act 2 that splats out, and chickens in Act 1 that runs away, there are exploding insects other places (WSK for instance) that damages a very small amount of damage thus you never realize it happens. But since you only had 1 HP you died from it :)
