I haven't been able to access that domain since at least yesterday. The logo at the top for instance takes you to http://forums.diabloii.net/ which doesn't work.

Someone needs to fix this ASAP, as it makes browsing the SPF guides thread a royal pain. (or pretty much any thread with diabloii.net redirects in it)

The SPF FAQ works perfectly as far as I'm aware. Perhaps if you PM'd a Moderator with the relevent information rather than make a vague posted complaint - not even in the same sub forum as the guide to which you refer, the links might be looked at.

The won't solve the problem. Every single link is still broken. All we can do is make diabloii.net again ours or run a complete replacement program.

I haven't been able to get the automatic re-direct working (from forums.diabloii.net to diablo.incgamers.com/forums) since we changed domain names about one year ago. Because of that I've been using diablo.incgamers.com/forums since the change was made and not relying on the redirct.

If you have a complaint regards a thread in my sub please have the courtesy to PM me with the details so I can make any necessary amendments. As far as I know the only thread using the old domain name is the Mat/Pat/Guardian thread which is maintained by a member of the forum and not the Mods. It is currently being updated. There is a note on the first post stating to use the new domain name.

As I said, the change from forums.diabloii.net to diablo.incgamers.com/forums was made over a year ago and as I re-did the SPF FAQ and guides at that time, there should be nothing in there which is out of date. If it is, I'd like to know. Please PM myself and sirpoopsalot with the information. Thank you. I'm sure other Mods would be equally happy to have PMs regarding problematic links in their sub forums.

We are quite happy to ensure the information here is correct and accessible, but a bit of constructive help is required.

IF you talking about the wiki etc, I believe Rush is working on that.

Ok [specifics then], guides in the class respective strategy sections do not work. Any guide using the diabloii.net redirect doesn't work; instead, you need to manually alter the link to diii.net for it to load the page.

You have to check all the links in the stickies a lot of them dont work. Not to mention the fact that half of the guides seem to be very outdated (I just moved from classic to LOD and the druid guides dont list half of the new runewords).

For that example you should PM Dacar92. That is in the Amazon forum not the SPF. This is what you originally said and why I posted:

That is not maintained by the Mods. As I stated above. I have put a note on the first post asking people to replace the url with the new one until it's host updates it. Which should be shortly. They, like us, have lives. :)

Indeed. We can't do anything if you don't give us the information. It just isn't feasible for us to randomly click and hope we find a problem If you've found something then just pass that on to the Mod of the relevent sub.

The simple reason I posted this here, is the OP references the diabloII.net domain. (And this is the trouble shooting forum). I assumed this was the correct place to post this. Additionally, I was running under the assumption this is a problem for the moderator help to fix. :oops:

Then why isn't it done already? All you have to do is copy everything in notepad, ctr H, follow the wizard and copy back.

What I don't get is why the administrators didn't see this coming and why they didn't take action. I don't believe there isn't a program that can help with the change, I don't believe there isn't a forum that member can't write such a program. You can probably just open the database and replace it all.

You should take a little more time to read more carefully NASE before posting. In fact I asked you to PM me with details but no matter; I can give you the information which you have overlooked here.

The highlight was my note on how to fix any link you require. It took me a minute and I was glad to do that.

However, when winmar started that thread it is stated quite clearly that THEY are trying to compile and maintain the list. ("I'm trying to collect") Not the Moderators. That thread has never been maintained by the Mods. Never. And never will be.

Frankly I'm more concerned keeping the SPTF clean of cheats and the forum clear of trolls, than I am sorting out the fact you cannot put the effort into changing forums.diabloii.net to diablo.incgamers.com/forums. Especially since your complaint is clearly not a Moderator responsibility.

If you had taken the time to compile such a thread and agreed to maintain it then I imagine that YOU would then take the time to update it as required. Obviously if RL got in your way - as it has winmar's - then I would have the courtesy to not make a song and dance but to merely edit whichever link I required at the time I required it.

In fact that would probably take LESS time than your complaints in this thread.

It is not feasible for Moderators to check every link of every thread and replace it. It just isn't. That is a reality. My SPF FAQ should have every link working. But I cannot guarantee that a thread three years old hasn't got an unbroken link in it.

If you seriously believe that chasing down ever link of every thread is a better use of our time than removing, troll, cheats, spammers, advertisers - never mind that little thing called Real Life - then I honestly don't know what to say to you.
