With reference to this thread: Destruction Bear Thingy (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=731488)

I asked there but the thread has died, so I'll ask in a new one. Which would be "better", a bear as he uses with Maul, or, a Wolf using Fury? I understand the ctc would interrupt fury? but wouldn't it also set of the ctc spells more often, even with the interrupt? Also what advantage would there be to take a Bear for over Wolf for this? Just the extra life/defense? Since I can't imagine the damage bonus meaning much when using a phase Blade.

Bear: With such a slow weapon you're going to need safety and the ability to deal with groups. SW will carry you through when things get tough and can lock down the battlefield while you let the procs do their thing.

Maybe the calculator's wrong, but Fury reaches 11/7/7/7/7 while unless I get 60% oias maul is stuck on 13 frames. Which is why I'm thinking wolf might be the better way to go. But the bear does get health I guess. I'll leave it a few more levels before I decide, more opinions welcome.

No, it's right. But Fury is interrupted by procs while Maul isn't. Also, Bear has more safety in SW than a Wolf can ever get. Speed's not really a big factor on a build like this since both routes are relatively slow once you factor in procs. Bear brings more to the table at lower speeds though.

Well I went Wolf anyway to at least be different from the vid lol. It works really well. Just need to grind a few more levels so I can get an infinity merc on the go and see how that helps with all the damned fire immunes in Hell. Fury does get interrupted with procs, but it still spams really fast at times; nothing like having 4-5 volcanoes going off on the screen at the same time. I also prefer Feral Rage to Maul, means I can go without too much/any leech on gear, though I'm considering dracs because pb damage is a little low.

Sweet deal, let me know how that turns out. Are you maxing Fury all the way, or just tossing a few in it atm?

I dunno if volcano handles multiples.. I think active ones submerge a second after another gets reproc'd.

It's really fun so far, it's just that I can't break fire immunes yet and there's a lot of them. I can still hurt them thanks to some of the damage being physical but it's slower than I'd like, especially if they have physical resistance as well.

I've only put one point into the shifter tree, wolf, lycan, feral, rabies, fury.
They're all at level 14 with one point into them, but I "prebuff" when I shift using Hoto + Spirit on switch. The level 14 fury adds:

141% attack
321% damage
5 Attacks.

My ar sucks a bit, so I need some ar large/small charms, but they're expensive and I didn't have any spare laying around to use. Good job I'll be able to own hellcows when I get my infi merc :) then I can find my own.

As for Volcano procs, I've definitely had at least 3 going at the same time, more like 4 or 5 on some occasions. I'll try a vid or a screenie maybe, but I'd have to change my graphics settings, screenshots don't seem to work with 2D mode.
