Skill questions (Freeze or just cold)

I am playing a sorceress with a friend who has a summon necro.

I'd like to make a fire/cold sorc, but I'm afraid that Blizzard might shatter the enemies, preventing necro from using corpse explosion/summon skeleton/resurrect.

I know that Frozen Orb has that same "shatter in iceshards" effect as Ice Bolt, but how about Blizzard?

A cold sorc can inflict two cold effects:

- Chill: the monster moves and attacks slower and has 25% chance of shattering on death;
- Freeze: the monster is completely frozen and has 100% chance of shattering on death.

Ice Bolt, Shiver Armor, Chilling Armor, Frost Nova, Blizzard and Frozen Orb inflict the Chill effect.

Ice Blast, Glacial Spike and Frozen Armor (don't worry about this one, the duration is negligeable) inflict the Freeze effect.

Thanks man. It seems that Fire/Frozen Orb sorc is the way to go then.

Wish they would mention those things in the manual.

Don't go cold if you're teamed with a summon necro.

Any target that is chilled when it dies has a chance to be shattered. Any target that is fully frozen is guaranteed to be shattered.

why not just spec full fire or fireball /lightning?
