That would be badass, though archangel's are big and have wings so that could be a problem......... haha

i have been sayin to my friend there could be some angel class. he disagreed but then i saw the pic of what i assume is tyrael without his big wings and i think it could be a class. http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/_images/artwork/ss42-hires.jpg
Sounds kinda out there...but an angel casted down to mortal levels could be an interesting twist on the holy warrior motif. There would have to be a good backstory for it though.

hahahah yeah ......... an angel class fighting monsters to earn his wings.........hahaha i'm sure blizz could come up with some sweet back story but i would much prefer an archangel or any variation of instead of the 'knight, crusader, templar' takes on the paladin architect. An angel would be a sweet sword / board , heaven / holy magic using, aura-a-plenty wielding fiend

An angel would be exactly like the D2 paladin

I guarantee there will be no Angel class, maybe an angelesque warrior that looks very holy, but no straight angel.
All playable classes will be human.
thats understandable... but a fallen angel is close to human. possibly a half vampire could be workable.
I really like the "pope like officer" talking to a guard.. on the diablo3 site.
I think It would be awesome to have a "holy class" looking like that =o)

Angels are not humans at all, whatsoever, in the Diablo universe, to my knowledge. A fallen angel is not a human.

I don't see that an angel is impossible - and I imagine it would be quite a popular choice...
But even though the Diablo universe is 'dark fantasy' - I believe that many fans would like to play a 'holy' and 'righteous' character - not necessarily ambiguous in its morality...
For some reason the Paladin has been ruled out by many. Personally I am hoping that - if Blizzard do not change their minds - the Paladin character will at least re-emerge in an expansion.
In the meantime, though, an angel class of 'light' could be good... Or otherwise some other character - clearly on the side of 'light' - without the moral ambiguity...
I think lots of people would like this - and I hope Blizzard pays attention.

Maybe it could be introduced in a manner like the deathknight in WoW? You wouldn't be able to play one right off the bat, but at a certain lv (say lv60), you had the option of trading in your current character to play an angel-type character of sorts. Of course, he would be comparable in power to a class of that lv, to prevent power imbalances.
I suppose the rationale would be that angels are extremely powerful, and even the weakest rank-and-file angel would easily equal a skilled mortal warrior in terms of power. So there is no way you can roll up an angel at 1st lv - by definition, an angel that weak simply doesn't exist!

Mr. Blizzard employee Bashiok confirmed that a long time ago.
In the end conversation with Tyreal in LOD, he says he can't see the consequences of destroying the worldstone. As people already argued, destroying the worldstone could have had two consequences for Tyreal himself. Either he is exiled by the angels or destroying the worldstone has corrupted Tyreal and took away a large part of his powers. In both cases, Tyreal's power will be stripped down making him equally vulnerable as a mortal. Therefore, I think we cannot already exclude a class that is related to angels beforehand.

Actually, the "all character classes will be human" thing was apparently confirmed, but in reality it's COMMON SENSE. If you understand the Diablo franchise, its style and lore, and how things work, you know that all character classes will be mortal humans.
It makes me grit my teeth every time someone predicts a "dwarf", "angel", or "vampire" class.
This is Diablo. Meaning that should not and will not happen.

And not why a character which recieves his/her powers from angels...or an angel imitator? Idk...probably said b4.

I think an Angel-Demon hybrid class (Nephalem) would fit well with the lore, AFAIK. Wasn't the Worldstone created partly to prevent the Angels and Demons from using Sanctuary as a battleground, but also to diminish the power of the Nephalem (humans) with each passing generation? Now with the Worldstone destroyed, surely their Angelic and Demonic powers would return?

Angels in general aren't that bad, imo (Tyrael was quite a cool guy :P ).
As a playable class, no.

This
Especially vampires, I'm really sick of vampires being in pop culture all together.
Type in "are" then a space in the google search bar and look at the second option for most commonly searched questions on the entirety of Google. I swear, makes me want to go to a Twilight midnight release with a freaking chainsaw.
Anyway.... yeah, all human PCs. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Fully agree, I hope they keep angels, demons and other fantastic creatures limited to the npc pool.
Also, twilight redefines the word bad taste.
