Hello fellow ETF'ers!
After a long time, the tournament dice will once again roll to decide the ultimate worthyness of peeps from all around!
Flux' Awesome Tournament: 3nd edition (aka FAT3)
Some small adjustments have been made to lower the boring parts and double the fun!
Now I know it's a lot to read, but I'm offering FUN and FREEBIES, so humor me :p
THE FREE ITEMS:
Full Set: Tal Rasha's Wrappings
Full Set: Natalya's Odium
2x Ist rune
2x Grand Charm of Chilling
Annihilus Small Charm
and a random number of perfect gems to fill up the gaps (even if you don't win, you still get things)
In contrast to previous tournaments, people won't be awarded a price for winning, but rather given a first choice from the above list of free items, when they chose or desire nothing, the next person can make his pick, until the items are all gone!
THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE
Stage I: The long road
PVM rules:
- start with a new lvl1 character, no gold/items/exp
- always stay partied together
- do not take any shrines
- play for 1 hour exactly
- do not take items from other classes ingame
- stay together when not in the rogue encampment
you are free to go to town at any time
but don't expect people to wait for you
the highest level all get +1 point
Stage II: Open Season
I'm going to stand still somewhere in act1
I will be naked with no skills activated
everyone must party together and hostile me
you get +1 point if you find and kill me
Stage III: Prelimenary rounds
I am going to get my Assassin, and produce a lvl1 shadow warrior
everybody can duel this warrior 1 vs 1 for 3 rounds
you get +1 point per time you kill her
Stage IV: Tenka'ichi Budokai*
PVP rules:
- duel with those characters in 1 vs 1 matches
- you can fun duel me, but won't earn any points for that
- you can challenge each player once, 1 match = 3 rounds
- no pots except mana
- a referee says go before each round
- no merc allowed
you get +1 point per match you win
*the strongest under the heavens
To sign up: simply reply here with your accountname, the tournament will be held in the evening during the coming week (we'll agree upon a date and hour here)

It sounds very fun im in. I just hope its not in a day that im at work.
What does this mean : "- do not take items from other classes ingame" , so if i use barbarian and a paladin only shield drops i cant take it ?

I propose Thursday (as it suits me best, but I can shift to another day if needed)
It will always be held in the evening, so working people can join as well.
Just say which days/hours suit you best, then we work something out?
And yes, that's exactly what it means, since everybody will have crap items anyway, safe for a few lucky ingame finds, the random skills/enhancements on the class only items will be the only diversity.
Seeing how sorc staves and paladin rods can be bought at Akara and wielded by any character, those are not forbidden to pick up by others (since they can be sold for a lot of money, which can be used to gamble), only the items where it says "this class only" are restricted to the class.
@hurfadurf: I'll need your accountname to verify it's you who's online, and not someone who claims to be you ;) (it's for your safety)
@qveasd: I know your accountname by now, but for the others, please state it here once again ^^
@galabab: you didn't reply yet, but I assume you will soon, just make sure your accountname is posted :thumbup:

Im not really sure if the Stage II: Open Season will work - what happens if few people attack you at the same time?

Even if two people attack only 1 can have the final blow. And the killer is then indicated at the top. "x slain by y" or the like ...
But thats the part i liked the least. Its based on mostly luck and almost always needs you to give little help... maybe swap it for an other fun contest?
Like:
You get a high char.
open cow level.
everybody goes in.
now you try to lure the cows closer to kill us all and the last man standing gets the points?
Im not sure though, maybe its possible to run forever?

Nobody chose a preferred day sofar, and the only time table I've been asked to take into account was after 18h (that's GMT+1 = Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Poland, ...)
Is everybody okay with my suggestion of Thursday, 23rd?
Shall we say, 19h?
The whole tournament will take approximately 2 hours of your time, but it won't be time wasted ;)
I'll whisper the game name and password to your accounts (try to be on time)
I am able to take precautions preventing anybody from cheating, but to make it more pleasant for all, I'm going to rely on your codes of honor instead :thumbup:

Too bad i cant play in Thursday (Wednesday as well )... i will finish job at 20h CET and i have 30 mins trip to get home :( Friday or Tuesday (tomorrow) is good if it is possible to shift the tournament.

Tuesday I have to arrange a bachelor party, and Friday I have to attend the birthday party of my 2 best friends.
But it is possible to shift the tournament to 21h CET if that suits everyone?

And how are we supposed to unlearn the game in order to turn ourselves back into the newbies we once were? :whistling:
On topic: I should have no problems getting home and online by 19h, but, in the offchance that I am late, would you care to gather everybody here? (in the offchance that I am late, I will only be late 15 minutes roughly)

@ALL: if I don't make it by 19h (but a few minutes later), I'm putting Galabab in charge of holding the herd together until everybody is online (we wait until 19h30 maximum, then we begin)
Take a close look at the list of participants, so you know which accounts are the valid ones, do not reply to other accounts!
How is the case with necro wands, they are character specific but not character only, so can we pick em up and sell them ?

Class items only are: (for lvl14 max)
Amazon: Stag Bow, Maiden Spear
Assassin: Katar, Wrist Blade
(Hatchet Hands, Cestus, Claws, Blade Talons => these won't drop but can be gambled)
Necromancer: Preserved Head, Zombie Head, Unraveller Head
Barbarian: Jawbone Cap, Fanged Helm, Horned Helm
Paladin: Targe, Rondache, Heraldic Shield
Sorceress: Eagle Orb, Sacred Globe, Smoked Sphere, Clasped Orb
Druid: Wolf Head, Hawk Helm, Antlers
Wands, Rods and Staves can all be shopped at Akara, and wielded by any character.
Do we have lvl restriction ? What lvl is possible to get in such game ... 18 ?

Its one hour of leveling, so max ought to be around 9-11.
In sigleplayer players8 i get to 13-14lvl so maybe 18 is possible ... i hope it is :)
My bad guys confused times to be 21hours, instead of 19

The tournament was a great succes, and a LOT of free items were distributed amongst the challengers (a LOT more than I said here :whistling:)
If anybody wants to do another, I can't post the thread here anymore, since it won't be a giveway anymore, only for fun.
So check the player matchup on a daily basis, and pm me if you want to organize your own tournament, or want me to join one of yours :alright:
PS: next one is FAT4 (maybe FAT16 and FAT32 will be something special ^^)
