View Full Version : Question about Chilling Armor
Hey all,
Is there any sort of information on what ranged attacks chilling armor completely blocks? On the Arreat Summit skill description it doesn't really say anything about a percentage being blocked or anything, but I noticed that this skill is so powerful, blocking all sorts of physical AND elemental ranged attacks, including completely blocking meph's cold ball.

The complete list is:
<empty>
... that any of the cold armors block any attack is simply a myth.
As far as can be told, it's a visual-bug based related to lag, but you do receive the damage. Every test I've read trying to (re)produce damage deflection/negation with these armors has failed.
Edit: I think Meph's cold attack can be blocked with a shield though.

Confirmed ^^
So my life bulb is in fact emptier than displayed on screen? Because it clearly shows that blue armor splash when hydra fireballs hit me, but I'm not taking any "damage", as shown on my life bulb. That the life bulb is inaccurate of my true remaining life is sort of disturbing, and I find it hard to believe

As for the life bulb, I can't say what bugs there are in the display. But I'd be less surprised that there's a bug there than to find out that CA deflects anything - and least surprised if you're resisting such a large portion of the damage that the results aren't visible (with maybe a little replenish to help even further).
But feel free to test it as much as you want, with and without Chilling Armor. If you find any difference, go ahead and download FRAPS, make/upload a video and post details and maybe then I'll believe that CA can deflect/negate an attack.
There have been a few people that have tried this already, and they all came to the same conclusion: CA does not deflect or negate attacks.

As a quick question, do you have any sources of MDR or fire absorb on that character? Hydras don't do very much damage.
