First of all I apologize if this question has been answered before or this is in the wrong section - if either case is true then please point me in the right direction ^^

If not though - on to my problem. It's fairly straightforward - multiplayer on Diablo 2 will not work. Singleplayer works fine, no problems there, except for an annoying graphical glitch in cutscenes, but besides that there are no real issues - multiplayer on the other hand, will freeze a short while into my game. Usually within the first minute, the longest it's gone without freezing is about three minutes.

There's nothing I can do when it freezes like this, alt-F4, windows key, ctrl-alt-delete, nothing works to close D2, I need to restart my computer. But I don't really want to know how to close D2 in case of these freezes, I want to know how to fix them, as I've never played BattleNet before and want to get into it >.<

I've tried a complete uninstall/reinstall, but it didn't help.

This happens both in the lobby and in game. Pretty much any time after I've clicked "host/join game" in TCP/IP, and I'm assuming anytime when I'm logged into BattleNet.

If anyone could offer some advice, it would be greatly appreciated. ^^

NOTE - This is not account based, as I can play on my account just fine on another computer

1st option Reinstall.
2nd option change your LAN card. I heard about crashes because of LAN card and sound card intervene with each other. In this case inserting your LAN card into another card slot might help. (Ignore this if you have MB integrated LAN)
3rd option - update your LAN card/MB drivers.
4th smash your old computer with a (Blessed) hammer and get a new one :)

sounds like there is something wrong with your computer

does it crash with other apps/games?

as Hrus suggested, drivers could be conflicting
have you installed any new hardware? memory, nic, sound, or video card
