Edit: After 6 Over Years?? Damn, I must be getting old!

I have both FireFox 3.5 and Explorer 8 and the pages here still take ages to load :whistling:

On another note...... Very excited about D3!

Maybe you need a new ISP then. I never have any troubles with loading times.

So it's just me and Charter 5mb huh??..... Yea' Right!!!! I have zero problems anywhere else with any other website. This site is like 8x times slower than any tech or computer related site I go to. (10-15 sites)

For those of you crying that my computer might be crap, My old AMD T-Bird 1.2 "YEARS AGO" on dial up was just as slow as my new computer is now. So that's all BS!

Intel-- 2.4 Core2 6600
Intel P965LT
2gb Mushkin HP2-6400 ram 4-5-4-11
EVGA 8800GTS/640
Win XP Pro
Charter cable 5mb
FireFox 3.5 and Explorer 8.0

The build's almost 3 years old, but a new one is coming in Nov. after Windows 7 is released, just biding my time for now :coffee:

I should've known this already, but did'nt think of it somehow.

Looked into my Kaspersky 7.0 Security Suite firewall and Microsoft's Pop up blocker and I added the http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/ (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/) to be accepted by both and all is good now. Still rather slow, but an easy 4x faster!

The only time the site seems slow to me is when I am waiting for the ads to load. Kind of annoying how they make the ads load first is it not?

But in all honesty, for a website it should be enough :)

There have been many times when this site wouldn't load for me at all but hey, it's free.

frankly, I have never encountered any slowdowns or page not loading errors using this site.

I have several times lately. Both at home and work. Ofc at home I use an older wireless card while I'm waiting for my other one to come back from repairs. I don't see why it should load so slowly, if not at all at work though. All other websites work just fine.

A lot of it just depends on your computer and Internet connection speed, however, I have noticed that this site is slower compared to all the other sites and forums I visit. So, yea, I believe that this site is slower than other sites.

The ad code is the last thing to load.

The site would have slowed down dramatically during the last fews days because of Gamescom and Blizzcon. Things should return to normal next week. The server is on a 100mb line.

That would most certainly explain it. Had completely forgotten about that :whistling:

Things should speed up now folks as we can all slowly exhale after the manic Blizzcon weekend.

It's at bearable speed with me. Actually pretty much ~instant most of the times.

Elly are you saying the advertisements load last? Cause not on my end. Ads load right after the banner and then forum threads after ads.

I might screwy but that is how it works for me.

Edit: Nvm it seems the ads load after posts...except at work and that might be a whole new ball game with how that works, everything is slow there for "our protection"

Edit 2 :
here are 2 screenies of the banners and ads all loaded while still waiting to load the forum page:

http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg31/spiffymcbang/adloadsfirst2.jpg
and usually loads like that for me. Might be my virus software but if the ads load last why would they show up second only to the D3 logo?

and on another note why would we get pop ups from a tag.agmen.com or something like that? (working from memory on that)

Well, that's confusing. So your home machine loads as intended but at work no?

It appears that at work it is much slower but like I said that could be due to firewalls, filters, and anti fishing stuff, and all kinds of other "big brother" type software.

at home it seems to load very fast most of the time, but once in a while it just crawls to a stop and the ads load and the banner loads but the threads do not for 10 - 20 seconds. sometimes not at all until I refresh the page.

it is not a huge deal but sometimes it appears the ads load first. Those screen shots where taken from home during a slow down on loading after about 10 minutes of very fast page loading in which it appeared the ads loaded after the threads but it was pretty fast so hard to tell. When it goes slow it is easy to tell which load first.

Anyway just trying to give you data to work with. I can certainly function fine as is.

The ads definetly load first on my pc as well. Some days at work i cant get the site to load at all and im on dedicated T1. At home its hit or miss, some days it times out, other days its blazing.

Dont really have problems like that with facebook, Cnn, and a few other high population sites. Not really a big deal to hit F5, but I see what the original poster is talking about.
