Should I make CL/FO or pure lite for MF?

First off I apologize if this has already been asked a bunch of times. I've been playing d2 on and off for the last 5 years and I always made a FO/meteorb sorc. So now I'm looking for some change so I want to go into the lightning tree. As far as MF I will be doing meph, andy, countess and maybe hell baal.

I assume Cl/FO is my best bet so I can kill lightning Immunes. Is there another lightning/ cold or fire build that is better than CL/FO? Thanks in advance!

Pure light means you have an Infinity merc...the two are pretty much handcuffed, you need infinity to break LIs.

So your question reduces to "can i get an Infinity merc or not?" If no, then CL/FO, which is perfectly viable....if yes, then pure light affords you more direct power
