i was thinking if blizzard really don't want us to spend all our skill points in just 2 or 3 skills why not ,when you level up,you will gain 3 skill point ( since there are so many skills i don't see the problem having 3 points per level) but you will be able to invest only one point in one tree skill.
that means when you level up instead of putting all your points in fire skills ( in sorceress case ) you will be forced to spend one point in the fire tree one in cold and one in lightning
i'm new to the forum so please be gentile ,and pardon my english:D

I think that's way to many points. You have to remember that there will be 100 lvls to be gained. With all the points you want there will be very little verity, cause everyone will have all skills at max.

That's a lot of points and that destroys custumization since the skills have to be weaker since you have more of them and you're going to be constantly changing them.
1. It's too many skills points--> You almost don't have to choose which skills to max--> No fun or thought.
2. Blizz doesn't want to MAKE us spend points in all Trees, they want us to spend points wherever we want, making us have a varied of different styles and damage types Spells. Why force me to invest in Conjuration Tree if I want to go pure Storm Wiz?

Though I still doubt it would happen, I think this has more potential than you guys realize.
By giving more skills each level, they would likely raise the skill caps and cause skill points to increase the ability slower. Meaning if you get 3 points per level, the cap would be raised to something more like 60. A skill with 30 points in d3 would be comparable to a skill with 10 points in d2.
The result is that if you want you can put all points per level into a single skill and essentially play similarly to D2. Or if you like, you can spread your points out with more variety each level. It increases the amount of fine-tuned control you have over your character.
Although a good idea in theory, when you think about how many levels you can get up to (most likely 100) thats 300 skill points which gives a lot of skills max or high numbered skill points. I still think the idea to erase all skills and put them all back in in a different way is the way to go (re-specs or whatever).

this it's not about how many skill point you get per level, this can be balanced making the level limit, of a skill, from 15 to 20,25....
it's about ,not having your character using only 2or 3 maxed skills whit the same damage type
we don't know yet how the gameplay is,but looking from the d2 perspective i say that's a good thing "forcing" us to invest in all the skill trees, especially if the immunities return(and maybe balancing even the pvp)

They're already building the game to make us use several skills.
It'll most likely still end up as 4 skills, but hey, it's better than just one (which was later 'countered' with immunities, forcing us to use 2 skills. Wow).

Imho, this is a terrible idea. You're forcing everyone to pick 3 skills per level (or you could do 1 point per 2 levels, whatev), maybe even from trees they don't give a rats *** about. I don't want to be bugged with a button screaming "Go waste points on skills you wont use!" all the time because I cba to put points in the Conjuring tree, for example.

Increasing the max skill level to >15 will force people to use less skills; D3 trees so far have a lot of passives. You're most likely maxing 4 skills for Charged Bolt (CB, Improved CB, Thunderstruck, Storm Power. [1] (http://www.diablowiki.net/Storm_Skill_Tree)). Max slvl 20 would require over 60 points then, and it's not even completely maxed. That's approximately half of your points most likely.
