Ok, obviously you can tell by the title what my issue is. I've gone through all steps I can find from each of the websites listed on the sticky. After reformatting I'm pretty sure that its not a problem with my computer. I would love anyone that has solved the problem they have to post some help on how they fixed it.

I decided to go into my D2 folder to look for the crash reports and came across a few things. The biggest thing that I see is that the game tries to load a monster model and if it can't find it, the game continuously tries to find it until the crash. At least for me that makes sense because it slows down to a crawl and then crashes. Here are a couple lines out of the crash report.

15:25:34.640 Error opening file: DATA\GLOBAL\MONSTERS\FM\COF\FMA1hth.COF
15:25:35.625 Error opening file: DATA\GLOBAL\MONSTERS\FM\COF\FMA1hth.COF
15:25:35.625 Error opening file: DATA\GLOBAL\MONSTERS\FM\COF\FMA1hth.COF
15:25:35.671 Error opening file: DATA\GLOBAL\MONSTERS\FM\COF\FMA1hth.COF

After rummaging around my folder a bit more, I've found a few more reports and they all revolve around the game not being able to load a monster model or script. Could someone possibly tell me what I can do for this?

Reinstall the game.

Or uninstall and install the downloaded version from blizzard's site.
