View Full Version : Facets on Enchant Ormus' Robes?
I was wondering if it is worth it to socket my enchant ormus (15% fire) and spend a 5-5 facet on it. Will it make a difference, considering that I only use that ormus as a prebuff before switching to my real armor?
if it DOES make a difference, can someone also explain why? (I'm a curious person I know :P)

The +5% damage does increase your damage at the time you cast Enchant, by tying into your Fire Mastery. If you whack something in a melee attack later, your mastery will be applied again (but since you've already de-equipped the Ormus, obviously the facet won't give you a boost there).
But +damage% adds on top of your fire mastery (so does the +15% from Ormus), so with plus ~300% damage from your mastery skill already, another +5% or +15% is a pretty small improvement overall.
Basically, at the moment, your Ormus' +damage% is a little better than what you'd get if you substituted +2 Fire Mastery instead of the +15% damage mod. If you add the facet, it would be like substituting a little bit worse than +3 Fire Mastery.
But the -Enemy Resists mod is calculated at the time damage is scored against the monster, so you could go with a +5/-3 facet (probably a lot cheaper to trade for) and get the same result as the 5/5 facet (unless you decide to keep the Ormus equipped).
