Infinity rw on SP?

My friend said that I could make an Infinity runeword on single player, but then I was talking to someone else and they said I can't make a Infinity runeword on single player because I had to be on closed battlenet with a ladder character to make it. Is this true? If it is is there anyway I could make an Infinity runeword on single player?

You most definitely can make Infinity on SP and all other ladder runewords. Go to the SP forum and check the stickies for the RWM (Runeword Mod) program. It is an accepted program on the forums

You can't make it without the RWM mod (which is not an official addon and adds closed BNet-only runewords like Infinity, Grief, Fortitude etc.).
EDIT: More specifically it doesn't add them, they are in SP Diablo data too, but flagged as "not possible to make". The RWM mod just deflag Diablo, so the runewords become possible to make.

If you will decide to use RWM then be sure to test if it works properly on some lower BNet-only runeword like Spirit before you waste your high runes. Oh and good luck (or if you are not lucky - have fun while doing ~17K Lower Kurast runs) getting 2 legit Bers.
