Hey guys, well I made a trade before, basically i traded something for a Jah rune.
Now, i recently logged back on and for some reason the rune has gone.
My friend said maybe it was a duped rune that got deleted, i dont know.
Anyone care to shed some light on what may have happened?

Your friend is correct, it was a dupe and it poofed.

Most of the high runes circulating on bnet are duped and will poof eventually. There is a basic guideline you should keep to minimise poofing:
- Keep your high runes on separate character which never joins public games.
- Trade for high runes you need and socket them right away (they won't poof once they're socketed into something).

I allways worked for my goal when trading for HRs. I knew i want enigma, so i had 3sox armor ready before getting the Jah, then added Ith and went on hunting for Ber.
When trading i allways prefer Ists over HRs as they're safer. As said earlier, if you want to trade for HRs, allways store them on separate char, NEVER on your
main char.

Chances are you will run into another character holding the same duped rune. When the server see this they will either delete yours or his, but better safe than sorry.

Sticking the HR on a mule will minimize the chance of seeing the HR's clone elsewhere. And definitely recommend having your socketed item ready when you make the trade for the HR. If you are getting the HR as currency, it is at your own risk. This is the biggest reason I don't like HRs as currency and prefer the alternative when trading.

Yeah, many players learn this the hard way. They work hard to get their first shiny high rune only to see it gone the other day.
