View Full Version : The next Class will be a Rogue

Yep.
After a lot of thinking, I'm 100% sure of it now.
A Range Physical focus, dual wield light weapon, fast melee, agility, "sent on a mission", stealthy/twilight, possibly cloacked- Rogue.

It's just fits perfecty. Anyone wants to bet an E-cookie on it?

P.S- The ONLY difficulty I see is having a Male Rogue, since the Sisters of the Sightless Eye, are, well, sisters.. But Blizz made a Male Wizard and a Female Barb, so I'm sure they can handle it (:

Of course the Sisters of the Sightless Eye would be nowhere without the Brothers the Deaf Ear  problem solved!

EH? WHAT WAS THAT?!

One thing I've been wondering is if they'll actually have TWO classes that can focus on missile weapons, since they've only had one in every game so far. At least after the xpac. A Rogue (by that name or another) is a good pick. It would have no overlap with anything so far and would be versatile. Yeah, having a combat tree, a stealth/trickery/speed/traps tree, and a magic tree could be a decent base to work from.

I hope it is a rogue. There's so much potential there with stealth, and they could finally give her some dagger throwing to finally give daggers a much needed use. Only problem is didn't Blizzard say no more Diablo characters coming back, or did they just mean d2 classes?

LOL I just thought of it, but what if the Rogue will be the ShapeShifter char and can transorm into a Black Panther?
It fits perefctly the wholy Rogue(y) vibe and could be very cool.

Besides- Who would expect the Ranger char will be the SS char too? (:

Ehh i think the next character will be another sorceress type character......with fire, ice, and lightning skills. The wizard is a huge disappointment so far, but i think a sorceress would be a great choice in D3

Meh, I don't think will see another heavy magic user. D3's town isn't big for 2 of these.
The Wiz might not be your D2 Sorceress re-vamp, but she's no disappointment.

P.S
What did you say? Some ideas for Rogue skills? Hell, why not:
Stardust- Rain of Arrows the damage everything in radius.
Pheonix- You fire an Arrow that transform to a Fire Pheonix, hitting your enemy.
Invisibility- Poof! and nobody can see you. Think of PvP (:
Leech- Melee attack that drain Mana and/or Life from target as long as you hold it (minor damage).

I have tons. Rogue is awesome ^^

I'm sorry, but do you read what you write? The Wizard HAS ice and lightning skills. She has a whole tree (http://www.diablowiki.net/Storm_Skill_Tree) dedicated to it. She only has two fire spells, Hydra and Meteor in her Conjuring tree, but that's because the Witch Doctor focuses on fire and poison. The Wizard is the D2 Sorc on crack, with the ability to control time itself.

Disappointment? Your ignorance is the disappointment.

^^ i think my IQ dropped just a little bit from reading that quote.

I think you're right on the rogue type character, but it obviously wouldn't be called a rogue. Maybe Valkyrie or something of that nature.

then think the fifth class will be some sort of shapeshfter, but something darker than the druid for sure, and hopefully without elemental spells.

NoNo, I'm saying it WILL be called, and will be, a Rogue.
It's a longshot, I know, but that is just too damn PERFECT.

Time will tell. ;)

 The idea of a sneaking in the shadows, throwing daggers or arrows rogue is good. We can do a lot with that base.

One thing that always bugged me about the Assassin, the way she had no stealth or scouting abilities. Sure she could shred groups of mindless A.I. boobs, and lay deadly traps; but I HOPE the enemies in D3 are going to be crafty, adaptable, and tough. :coffee: Not punching dummies.

It would be fine if you could scout an enemy camp unnoticed, meanwhile the unsuspecting enemies go about their business. (At a mana cost.) Maybe even lay some traps while in that state that go off if detected or the skill is changed or runs out of energy. Form a plan of attack.

Also, the overpowered traps could give way to some artistry with throwing knife and bow skills. What LaZeR said about those skills has potential.

I thought of this too, but then I realized rogues returned in D2 as mercenaries and had an entire act practically dedicated to them.
It would kind of be overkill IMO.

OP doesn't know anything, should know his place. Stardust just sounds like a physical damage based Frost Nova, random area attacks aren't the best to showcase an archer character since we already have a Wizard.

Also, that guy who was crapping on about a Sorceress was probably all like, "woo d2, gonna post on d3 forum lololololol". I hate those people.

no rouge, valkyrie, something wild. befor i played d2 i had no idea what necromancer, druid, or paladin meant, let blizzard look in it's big dictionary to dig up a better name. also, i wrote this pharoah-character article about this shapeshifting summoner, but now that i think about it, the rouge, may be some shape shifter too. like a spell that will let you transform into half spider to make quick escapes, and stealthy poison-assassinations. to to ly cool character, does fit, but where does this ranged class come in? Blizz needs one of those too right?
