Excessive stickies

I think some of the subforums' stickies really need to be cleaned up. The whole point of a sticky is "this is important info that shouldn't get lost," but when there are a dozen of them essentially spamming up the top part of the forum, it makes people more likely to miss something in there or even skip over the stickies entirely. Would it be too much to ask that the info get condensed a little?


The problem seems to mainly be in the D2 character subforums. The most problematic ones are:

Statistics: 6
Necromancer: 6
Sorceress: 6
Paladin: 7
Assassin: 10 (!)- It is necessary to scroll down to see any normal threads here.

the best thing to do in a situation like that is bring it to the attention of the Moderator assigned to the forum, some stickies are needed while others might be consolidated into a single thread with links to other threads.

Good point, Stratus!! I was wondering about this myself. And Gorny, this is a forumwide problem, rather than a subforum problem. I have found info in the Sorc forum which would look better in the Stat forum, etc. Even within the stickies (especially the ones that have been edited over years) it starts to get messy, like the Paladin guide thread.

So if we can reach a consensus over this I am more than willing to take a look what info should be stickied where or which thread should be fused elsewhere.

And a final note is that a certain standard make up would look pretty good. I.e. all the char forums have build stickies; why not give them all similar names and layout? Same with the help thread in the Comm forum; it could be removed if all the trade realm forums had their own (which is almost the case iirc). This would net better feedback to each request too.
