To expand that list a little further to include sorcs, I don't know if these are most popular, but they're among the very best:

Poor Gear: Cold sorc
Rich Gear: Lightning sorc ("needs" Infinity)

Popularity doesn't always mean effectiveness.

I have the same question.

I was thinking in a MeteOrb. Is it a good mf build for a poor player that also wants an enjoyable char and a good one in the future?

I need a good MF char since I'm not allowed to trade and a powerful char since I'm also not allowed to MP.

For 100% self-found gear, I would suggest a pure blizz sorc. Performs better on lower fcr and +skills.

The hard part will be going through the acts in Hell with all the immunes, but with Static and your merc it shall be doable.

Thanks for the feedback Scudstorm.

I'm more inclined to a Meteorber though, seems cooler the 10k fireball and 20k meteor :) (from what I read I can easily solo Hell with one).
It'll be hard since I don't have the TR's set but perhaps I can use her with some cool orbs I found like this one.

+1 to Energy Shield (Sorceress Only)
+1 to Chilling Armor (Sorceress Only)
+2 to Meteor (Sorceress Only)

A long-term project :) Perhaps the char can find herself the set.

Well i am stuck at 3k fireball and 7k meteor... And still havent found the TR armor.. Completely untwinked meteOrb. All items from scratch. But its very enjoyable character. And brilliant mfer.
