I mainly play in public dueling (pubs). This means, no BM or holds barred dueling. Usually everyone uses whatever they can to win, chicken, potting, absorb, Farcast etc. Its quite frustrating. After playing by the rules for a while I've given up and wanted to seriously consider going "BM" myself. I was thinking about switching out my current griefz for a doomz. This will give me a nice holy freeze aura that will disable most melee characters, zons, charging palidans etc. and stop all those annoying hammerdins from desynching all around me.
Would that damage output be good enough? I've tried griefz/doomz but it doesn't really work. I need the +32 strength on my beastz to wear COA. So its going to be griefz/beastz (current setup) or doomz/beastz. Please advise. Thanks.
actually, you should stash grief and doom, you can switch whenever you want to. you can either get 3max/xx/2str charms or rebuild if you want to wear..

So do you or don't you need the str? Do you also mean you tried greifz/doomz and it didnt work becuase of str?

Darn it. I guess I got confused with what helmet I was wearing. Usually I use Arreats more often then COA so strength isnt a problem, but yes if I want to wear COA I need beastz too with its plus strength.
Anyways, I've decided to stick with griefz with doomz on stash for hard smiters/zons. Griefz does considerably more damage then doomz in the game after I tested it out a couple times.

You could always use 2 doomz as BO weapons and flash the aura when needed. Sure you loose +2 to BO and shout, but they really shouldn't make much of a difference, the added tactical benefits of holy freeze outweigh them anyway. The only problem with this choice is that if you are killed while you have the dooms out and COA equipped, the COA will stay on your body (unless you add the strength to use it with doom).
