Hi all.

I want to start an account with the sorceress. I am fairly new to diablo 2 lod. Having only one other account, a level 46 nightmare druid, with very uneven stats.

I would like to make this account properly. I need an easy guide to follow, that tells me how many skill points to put on each skill, and how many stat points to put on each stat. Some things I do not understand so the easiest guide possible would be great.
I like cold spells the best, followed by lightning, then coming last would be fire.

Even if you just tell me something like -
20 skill points to frozen orb
20 skill points to ice bolt
10 skill points to max wartmh.
50 points to energy
20 points to strength
10 points to dexterity

It would be greatly appreciated. That small guide is easy to follow and I know exactly where to put each skill point

Thankyou

Edit - I have found one guide so far, full of information, skills I like, and it tells me what skill points to put where, and when.

What do you guys reckon about this build?

That guide is a few years old, but it sounds solid (nothing has changed in d2 in a few years anyway.. since the 1.10 patch released in 2004).

A pure blizz sorc is not the easiest char to start with, simply due to the high number of Cold Immunes you will face, especially as the guide you linked didn't include a point in static field. It's certainly not impossible, but i'd suggest The Orbitaller (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=708646) or the Meteorb (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=671691) as both are dual element so immunes are less of a problem. Both these builds can be used as a cold sorc, just using fire + static field to kill the cold immunes. There are many other builds available, there is a sticky of guides and such at the top of this forum, but i've only had experience with the 2 i've linked. You might be able to find a blizz/xxx build that you like the look of, so i suggest you have a quick browse if either of the 2 i linked don't appeal.

As with 99% of builds:
str - enough for your gear (i'd hesitate to have more than 50 points here unless i had an item that needed it like Spirit runeword sheild).
dex - enough for your gear (for softcore pvm and a new starter i'd not bother with max block) (here i'd suggest none, but maybe you might need 75 for a Wizzardspike (http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/elite/udaggers.shtml).
vita - everything else.
energy - most guides will say "none", but it might be wise to put a few (10-20) in energy for a first time char with crappy gear, as most guides assume that you have good items to use.

With most chars, it's wise to spend stat points in vita (to keep you alive) and then save up as many points are you are comfortable with and only spend them when needed. On most of my chars i'll take vita up to 100 as soon as possible assuming i've enough str & dex to equip the items i need to.
