items disappearing

I have lost a couple of items while muling.

I would perm a game, drop a few things on the ground and some of it would just disappear. These werent runewords or anything, just items I find in game.

for ex. just now I lost 3 dkeys and an hkey.

I would set aside everything to transfer, but the keys would just go missing.

Last week a 4 OS +35res. guild shield went poof too.

Did the items disappear immediately or after a while?

If it was immediately, someone else in the game may have been picking them up.

If it was after a while, then the timer may have just expired. Normal/Socketed/Ethereal/Runeworded items disappear after about 5 minutes on the ground, Magic items after about twice that, and Rares/Sets/Uniques after further still. Or, someone else in the game picked them up.

it would be after a few minutes. No body joins the game becuase I am using 2 comps (with 2 cd keys) to do the transfers. So, I doubt anyone can get in the game without a msg popping up on either screen.

So items disappear if left on the ground a while? TY for info, didnt know that.

its good to go slow when muling to prevent temp bans, but too slow will cause loss of items

edit: also make sure you do your muling in password protected games

since you run 2 games at once, its best to use the trade screen

Items and Gold Disappear after time when left on the ground
Don't leave items or gold lying on the ground any longer than necessary. Regular items and gold disappear after exactly 10 minutes. Magic items will disappear after 20 minutes. Rare, Set, Crafted, and Unique items will disappear after lying on the ground for 30 minutes.
