I am sorry if this has been asked but will the new battle net have GM's? so you can ask questions submit a bug or report?

Probably not, I don't see a point for a "GM" to be in Diablo 3.

Besides Blizzard have an official forum where you can ask questions on technical problems, as for game issues you can post them here or their GD.

I sure hope not.

If they would be killable characters, then why not. Otherwise I don't see the purpose of them. There will be other ways to report bugs and such.

I sure hope not.

I wouldn't want to see noobs screaming " I WANT TO BE GM!" everywhere, you know that sort of crap you always see in MMOs', which apparently D3 is not.

Will probably be the same system.

I'd hate for GMs to take a slot up in a game anyway :P Being a GM is pretty fun, but you do get power abusers and as mentioned above, spamming "how do I be a GM/ I want to be a GM" is......ridiculously common and annoying.

It's been a while since I've looked at the channels available, but doesn't current b.net have support channels where you can talk to Blizzard representatives within the game? Granted the ones I know of are more like support of a technical nature, but I would think they would handle it in a similar fashion still.

I don't see a problem in GM's.. they are invisible anyways in a game and they could have their own slot in a game if they are to join one. The support would work mostly from chat anyways.

I've never seen anyone to scream "I WANT TO BE GM" in any mmo i've played... Who would want to be working in a "helpdesk"?

WoW is already one good and common example, maybe you should start widening your MMOs knowledge :smug:

I was GM in a big MY MMORPG, and practically all of the downloadable MMORPGS you see now days generally have GMs. And you DEFINATELY get people screaming I WANT TO BE GM :x And the same reason for working in a "helpdesk" is because people like to share their knowledge, and obviously different games have different GM perks :P And who doesn't want to log on and have a fan club waiting for them to praise them? :smug: Kidding.

seriously.. played wow from release for example.. never seen anyone wanting to be a GM to answer peoples whines.

In wow they were generally thought to be really stupid and didn't know much about the game. These thoughts come from peoples experience with GM's.

Anyways back to diablo3. I guess it doesn't matter if we have them or not if the game is bug free and no one can cheat there. But i'm sure battle.net2 will have a support chat room or something like battle.net has.

Here's a question: Will the B.net interface upgrade to 2.0 for old titles like D2 and Starcraft classic?

I'd guess they keep the old games out.. they would most likely need to upgrade how the games communicate with battle.net. I have a feeling that the communication with d3 and sc2 and battlenet2 will be a lot different. Mostly for security and efficiency reasons.

Why wouldn't there be GM's? The only reason Diablo 2 didn't have one because it was in the late 90's and their resources were limited.

Blizzard is a huge company now, and the satisfaction of their costumers is top priority so you can expect a dedicated group of people who are going to be there 24/7 to assist gamers in whatever they need help with. Albeit it may not be for the reason you see in WoW, but there is the need for them.

If by some odd means their character gets stuck leaping off a ledge, or if someone is griefing extensively or exploiting a bug. What are you supposed to do then? Post it on a forum? No, you put in a 'ticket' for assistance.

The assistance may not come to you in the game like in WoW, but it may be accessible outside of the game in a Bnet channel.

The "ticket" system in WoW only serves to pander to whiny little supersensitives and to waste player's time.
I was once reported for using the word "dookie" in general chat, and they actually gave me a three-hour ban for that.
If I have to deal with not only whiny little kids on b.net but GMs who reinforce their whining? I'll be playing SP.

It won't happen, though, unless there's a b.net subscription fee. I don't think blizzard wants to dish out money to pat little billy on the head when someone (probably justifiably) calls him a meanie.

Diablo is an instanced game... and what would a gm do in a Diablo game?

Never thought of it that way, hmm. Interesting, the game WOULD have to be pay to play. Unless there was a non-live version of the GMS, where people could place in complaints and it could be replied to at a later date.

The most viable option is still through the forums, they have active MODs there. If you are "afraid" of logging into the official forums then your loss.
