View Full Version : Need help: Fishymencer for GF and MF

Hi guys,

loved this guide (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=632493).

I still needed some help b.c the guide was rough and I was looking to do MF with it.
First question, I have heard that after some percent of MF the curve is pretty flat so it's rather useless to add more MF. Is this true? and what's the usual cutoff? I have heard around 250 is fine. true?

For Fishy,

Merc will be might with infinity, fort and dream.

Necro will have,
Armor= Wealth
Weapon= Ali Baba w/ added lems
Shield= Homenculus w/ added lem
Helm= Crown of theives w/ added lem or Ptopez
Boots= Infernostride and Travs for switch
Gloves= Chances
Belt= Goldwrap
Rings= 2x Dwarfstar

Charms= Gheed and mf+gold if have.

With the above setup I have about 1500% more gold and around 290MF. I feel this should be enough.


Now comes the hard part, the skills. Maxing raise skeleton and skeleton mastery is given and 1 point in amplify damage, raise skeleton mage and summon resist. But that's only 43 points.
But then what route should I take? Should I go with Maxing skeleton mage, and/or revive and CE or should I go the poison route or the bone route?

I never made Fishy before and never did NM or Hell with my Boner. So this was the biggest area I needed help in.

Also let me know about my gear and merc gear and anything you feel needs to be addressed. As I said before, I am new to this area.

well, i wrote the guide you like (you're welcome).

skills: max out Corpse Explosion.

there's a lot of spare points in the basic skelly'nec build. personally, i put a few into Dim Vision and a couple into Amp along with 1pt in all the curses.

spares can be profitably used in Golem Mastery or you can start getting a beefier Bone Armour (tip: points in bone armour synergies add more than points into Bone Armour), or even pump Revive a little. i didn't take maxed Mages and don't regret it at all

personally, i wouldn't bother with b-spirit/spear or poison nova.

as for gear: looking good so far. an Amulet would be nice (even better if it has +%GF and Teleport charges on it). your hat could do with an upgrade, but if your gambling circlets a lot, i'm sure something swish will eventually drop in your lap.

as for Merc: i like an A2, NM Might merc myself. Mine uses a e-Insight colly voulge, g-bane armour and a Crown of Thieves helm. the only thing you should avoid on your merc is any Cold Damage.

Thanks. I was little skeptical about CE b.c I was only going to run Travincial/Shrenk/Pindleskin.

Also something I forgot to add b4, should I go with descrepify( it will reduce resists and will aid my mages and skellies plus the holy shock aura) or just go with amplify dmg?
CE would work fine with the descrepify?

and for Poison Nova, does one bold cause the written damage or is it the whole thing?

CE is hands down the best PvM killing skill in the whole damn game.

where's the Holy Shock come from?

Decrepify reduces Physical Resistance by 50% as well as slowing your target.

the best use of decrepify is to tag Baal with it. it stops him from teleporting and from summoning his double.

CE would work fine with the descrepify?
CE will do less damage to a Decrepified target (-50% Phys resistance) than it will to an Amplify Damage'd target (-100% phys res).

and for Poison Nova, does one bold cause the written damage or is it the whole thing?

ah. thanks. there was a typo in the last part. it suppose to be bolt not bold.

anyways, this (http://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Necromancer_Curses)is where i got the descrpify info from. it says the curse reduces physical, elemental and magical reisistance by 50%. this is why i was saying would descrepify work best for me since i have mages, CE's fire damage and holyshock?

also the Dream helm which gives holy shock is on the merc.

aha, ok.

for Poison Nova, you just have to hit them with the Nova and they take the damage, it's not on a per-bolt basis (like Frozen Orb for example).

i'm not 100% sure that decrepify reduces elemental resists. i'll have to test it. in any case, Decrepify has a smaller radius and a much shorter duration than Amp.

i wouldn't ever put a Dream helm on a merc. the damage it gives will ultimatly be rather pithy.
