A poison nova necro can run the pits quite well.

"Pure" Bone necros can. A 1 point clay golem/mastery/summon resists is usually taken to slow bosses. A 1 point revive can be very useful. Bone necros make great key runners too. A 1 point Bone Armor gives you a lot of extra recastable hit points. 1 point in your favorite curses or get them off wands. Dim vision is useful for taking out souls. Decrep for bosses. Monsters hate walls/prisons so your bone structures draw a lot of attention.

If you take a little time shopping normal Act 2 Drogan you can find a nice +3 spear 2 open socket wand for the White rune word tha also has a useful curse on it.

I have done one with just merc, necro and golem and some curses. With corpse exp of course. Worked nicely.
Merc was something like Tomb Reaver, Shako and Tal armor (total 95 ias for 6pa) to get nice mf bonus.
Plenty of free points, so I ended doing good golem (30k life gumby), it almost never died.

I mainly used attract and amp curses. Attract one, amp the rest and let merc do initial kill, rince and repeat.

Worked nicely in all TC85 areas, except those IM areas (chaos mainly).

With 250mf... from merc and 600... from char, he was nice mf char.

And easy to run travi etc... right away without building army. Gumby and attract can take heat away from merc, so he can do that initial kill easily.

I liked to run travi and travi temples with this char and Pindle. And Pits.
Very good at those short runs.

+ worked right away, no need to build army
+ items with +skills not needed, works just fine with pure mf gear.
+ safe build for char and merc and both can carry plenty of mf without problems.
+ party friendly, works together with almost any char and one summon don't ruin game for melee chars.
+ no mf switch needed, as its main hand, so can use weapon switch for anything for example fast moving (harmony bow) or gampling (edge).
+ never lose necro/mage/revives while running fast around

How did you get 95 ias and 250 mf?

Tomb reaver - 80mf
Ptopazed Shako - 74mf
Ptopazed Tal Arm - 112mf
total - 266% (assuming he got the best roll on tomb)

Tomb Reaver also comes with 1-3 open sockets, so I imagine he socketed it with shael and IAS jewel which makes 60 (base) + 20 (Shael) + 15 (Jewel) = 95 IAS

Hope that helped :)

How did you get 95 ias and 250 mf?

That polearm has 60ias and 3 sockets, so adding shael+ias jool for that 95.
It has 50-80mf, 66mf is enough for my case.
Shako (Ptopaz)=74mf
Tal-armor (Ptopaz)=112mf, gives total 250mf.
And still one socket open in weapon.

edit: Too slow. That polearm was with 3 sockets and around 74mf, that 250mf was just rough estimate.

I'm gunna quote myself from this thread from some days ago: http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=728918

My personal favorite build to go with for MF summoner is a golemmancer. I have a level 90 one that I use 100% mf gear on and I love it. Max CE, Fire Golem, Golem Mastery, Summon Resists, 1 point into Amp and dump the rest into blood golem (for life to your fire golem) Fire golem is the golem of choice because you won't risk your own health with a blood golem and because iron golem will have way too much defense. For a mercenary I use an act 1 merc using Edge (Tir Tal Amn in a bow) and Bramble armor to get stacked thorns. Combine that with amp damage and anything that hits your golem/merc/you dies almost instantly, leaving you free to CE the hell out of them with a ridiculously high range. Watching Hell meph kill himself in 3-4 hits never gets old. :P

I've also done key runs on a PvP bone necro with ease. I'm playing around with ideas to abuse curses for PvM/mf as much as possible but haven't gotten very far with that yet. :P
